Trying to phrase this so I don’t get banned.

Have been following the crowdsourced intelligence work identifying the Captiol rioters (alleged).

Was very puzzled by Jessica Watkins - youngish-woman, dressed in fatigues, in a command position over some very senior veterans on 6th Jan, also in a very senior position in her local Oath Keepers militia.

Just seemed such an odd thing for a women to do - yes, there have been plenty of women arrested but not in full combat gear and not in leadership roles.

Today’s court arguments where she wants to be released from prison include a note that she transitioned after leaving the US military.

Perhaps I’m mentally limiting what women can do in my own mind, but I couldn’t make the pieces fit without this detail.

Also struck me as very odd that given Trump banned trans people serving in the military that she would come to his defence!

I hope this is “in the spirit.” I guess I’m interested in how male socialisation leads to transwomen being in places that natal women aren’t always found.

Far-right extremists are rife with MRA and incel types. White supremacist and anti-government domestic terrorist groups seem to attract angry, violent and hateful people. Look more to that criminal makeup than to a specific policy from Trump.

Some women are arseholes too.

But when it comes to an old fashioned riot/ danger situation generally it's men.

I've found it interesting on how the presumably massive minority of women in this have been focused on in the reporting etc.

That’s a good point- “Bullhorn Lady” has had acres of coverage.

It is amazing the way people try to rationalise things in their mind. They probably just think most trans people are left wing and that’s why Trump banned them rather than having an issue with trans.
