Twitter - Attempted logins

Hello
Any GC Scots on Twitter had attempted logins of late from locations in Scotland? Had 2 this quick succession this morning from somewhere in Fife. Wondering if I should be worried.

As I understand things, attempted log-ins on twitter are to trigger a partial reveal of the email address associated with an account. It usually isn't enough to reveal someone's identity but if the stalky person already has an idea of their target and knows, or can guess, their email address, this technique can be used to confirm identity for doxxing.

I had a verbal tousle with some violent TRA's and started to have issues like this. Phishing is quite common and twitter is not that secure from hackers. Lots of techy TRA's. I immediately deleted my account, changed all my google passwords and set up 2 factor authentication. I have left twitter now but I did go back, I went back with an anonymous email verified via a disposible phone. It sounds very gangsta but some of these people are dangerous. I wasn't saying anything controversial, just defending sex based rights and countering particularly aggregious claims with inconvenient statistics. These people are loons.

If you watch the first part of this (showing someone using the reset password process) you'll see how a partial email address can be revealed:

Thanks for this. I’ve hardly posted anything really and haven’t got into any arguments. I seemed to have been blocked by David Paisley though...so obviously somebody has noticed me.

I’ve had one this week - for a very ordinary and technical work twitter account that I keep an eye on. I have an account but have posted about a dozen times, nothing to scare the horses.

Could it be twitter being bonkers?

It wouldn't be the first time this has happened. Some TRA student journalists used this tactic to reveal the identity of an anonymous Twitter account which belonged to an academic at Oxford.

Cancelled the account. I will open another at some point (especially now as Sarah Phillimore has been allowed back on) but at the moment I’m enjoying my blood pressure reading within the normal range. Twitter is great for keeping you informed...but the misogyny gives me the rage sometimes!

I had a spate of them but the location was London.
