I don't imagine many of the wider public know a lot about it. It's not easy to share, given the vitriol from some entitled people. I've a few friends/family members who I just can't risk setting off.

SomeonesRealName · 19/02/2021 16:22

Very close to halfway now!

EmpressWitchDoesntBurn · 19/02/2021 16:26

Just wiping my spade.

Mrsmorton · 19/02/2021 16:30

I have gardened but I am so tired of gardening just to exist, and be recognised, and have my rights respected.

The struggle happens daily in work, it's now all around us. Just exhausting.

Toomie · 19/02/2021 16:32

But I am a bit sad that an issue this important isn't resonating more with the wider public.

I think that is that it's just not enough of a story yet to have been picked up widely by mainstream media.

Once the pre-action letter has been sent and the coalition website launched on Sunday I imagine it will get much wider attention. I certainly hope so.

greatpurplepolkadots · 19/02/2021 16:38

Thank you - that is very encouraging and I think what I needed to hear.

CormorantStrike · 19/02/2021 16:52

greatpurplepolkadots I think the echo chamber of FWR gives us a false idea of how aware people are of these issues unfortunately - and allpicklemewalnuts is right that it isn't easy to share publicly. I've sent the link individually to people I trust but can't share openly on eg. twitter or facebook as I risk losing my job (as mad as that seems!).

I'm astonished at the Twitter replies to FPFW about this, yet again claiming it's transphobic. How on earth can they claim that? Surely it can only be helpful to know the stats of the trans community in relation to the larger non-trans population??

Sillydoggy · 19/02/2021 17:11

I love gardening. We shouldn’t have to do it to protect our rights but thank goodness FPFW are prepared to stand up to the ONS.

It's not about reality though. For trans activists it's about validation and/or about removing sex as a category entirely in society.

I've seen transactivists arguing for blood donation by self ID even though an accurate record of sex is very important for donor blood as it could potentially kill a man if he uses donor blood from a woman who's ever been pregnant. It makes no sense at all.

Lifeaintalwaysempty · 19/02/2021 18:03

Brilliant!

persistentwoman · 19/02/2021 18:05

@HubertHerbert

You don’t need a GRC to change your passport. And the words “such as” are not helpful.

Have a read here:

Olderstyle1 · 19/02/2021 21:04

51% of carrots planted.

And now the ONS (who don't seem to be very bright TBH) have put out two contradictory tweets in the space of 30 minutes, one that tells Clare that the sex question refers to 'what was recorded at birth' and the other that tells Ken that 'everybody will be able to identify as they wish'.

Is there something we should know about Ken?
