Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Irish transactivists

A certain notorious TRA based in Ireland posted a long thread today advising young trans kids to lie to medics and obtain puberty blockers by whatever means possible.

An employee of TENI retweeted the thread. TENI were in the news recently as when the ICGP (Irish college of general practitioners) posted a guide to trans health care which referenced TENI a number of times and mentioned that puberty blockers were reversible. This advice was only taken down when a number of people/groups complained.

But is getting puberty blockers in Ireland as children even possible at the moment? Are they suggesting going to GPs abroad?

SarahGoode · 14/02/2021 22:46

Irish kids can - and do - get them online from GenderGP

purplepizzabunny · 14/02/2021 23:02

And an irish tra who has a 'trans' child works for gender gp.

Ah, the one peddling the dodgy practice and fuelling the dodgy beliefs. With her buddy who is campaigning for the safeguarding of Irish children to be dismantled for certain special castes in the name of his men's rights 'activism'. Leaving children vulnerable and more open to abusers was never so fashionable. Quite the busy and lucrative industry for these self serving, career activists.

Do they not think that enough Irish children were made vulnerable, abused and brutalised in the past?

Cailleach1 · 14/02/2021 23:56

And of course now the ICGP looks less reputable than before.

Can all lobby groups and interested parties now write their desired treatment pathways for everything and ICGP will simply give it their imprimatur and publish it without a murmur?

Hear, hear.
notyourhandmaid · 15/02/2021 01:06

This is terrifying. The lies that are being told in the name of inclusivity...

NotTerfNorCis · 15/02/2021 08:17

Oh the 'Tan Exclusionary Radical Fenian'.

Super-Irish but not actually Irish.

Grin Grin There seem to bé a lót of those around; and they love a fada. Grin
XXSex · 15/02/2021 13:50

I’ve just found the post you mean. That is horrific!!! Imagine signposting to children how to get off label drugs. And then think that they’re doing the children a favour?!

weatherwarning · 15/02/2021 14:03

I am assuming that this is on twitter? Would anyone be able to share it with the ICGP?

It might cause a few red faces. Blush

PotholeParadies · 15/02/2021 14:59

Well, why not self-id as another nationality, eh?

notyourhandmaid · 15/02/2021 15:23

Ah, Cailín Ó Leprechaun.

Cailleach1 · 15/02/2021 16:53

Na Prionsbail Yógyakártha! A stroke by Máirtín(e) Ó Róthblatt and others. Most importantly not from An Sasana.

Didn't see O'Gorman (or his fellow mra's) harangue those pushing for the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Ireland because it had already been decriminalised in England. Seems Irish men can push for universal rights without being labeled 'West Brits'.

Only women and children to be pissed on. It is truly impressive how respectful and evolved these progressive bro's (self ID, of course) are compared to their forefathers!

purplepizzabunny · 15/02/2021 17:42

The ICGP were tagged in some of the tweets as were various ministers and the chair of TENI. The TRA who retweeted is also asking for more donations to a gofund me to pay for her (already incurred) medical expenses and because her rent has gone up.

OP posts:
Cailleach1 · 15/02/2021 18:11

Why would you automatically assume that the ICGP have any ethical problem with that sort of charlatanism, though? The integrity of the ICGP is a bit compromised now though, isn't it? It's allowed itself to be used as a simple mouthpiece to transmit the wish list and 'advice' of a political lobby group whose aims and beliefs may very well be contrary to good medical standards and practice. Maybe even by people with vested interests or what some might view as nefarious aims.

Once, you would have been reassured if you fact checked something and arrived at the ICGP as a source. Now you know it may just give way to political ideology instead of evidence based medical advice.

Did anyone else see this on the journal (www.thejournal.ie/transgender-healthcare-crumlin-ireland-5351942-Feb2021/) last week, they mention the Keira Bell case but not any of the facts around that case or what it said about the safety of puberty blockers and apparently the case "does not affect Irish people" (directly that maybe true that what an English court says doesn't directly impact Irish law but its very persuasive on Irish judges). TENI and the Irish media are in full nothing to see here move along mode

I stopped reading journal.ie when they made a certain person a regular columnist. .

Why is this thread not mentioning names and not linking to tweets? I can't follow it

Same. It's perfectly fine to do both on here.

In fact, it's advisable to take screenshots or archive things like that, to keep for evidence.

No way, is that a thing now? What are they trying to say, that we must keep the British Feminists out kind of a thing because they don't like that women are starting to realise what had been sneaked in under the radar here in Ireland?

Thanks. That's disturbing. I have archived it here:

The Rose they are referring to at the beginning is Rose Wong, an American transwoman who sadly committed suicide.

Here is another rather disturbing thread from the same person about orchiectomies:
