Slightly off topic but didn't the Daily Mail have a campaign in bringing Steven Lawrence murderers to justice? I seem to remember it being a big thing at the time.

Im not keen on the paper, i do read the headlines cos its easy. My dad loves it and i need to be prepared when he pops round because he is sure to mention something thats in there!

But they are like a dog with a bone over some things

Worth looking at the comments. First comment "He speaks the truth" has more than 7,000 up votes and 40 down votes. It goes on like that.

While it's encouraging to see, BTL on the Mail is usually absolutely choc full of loons and trolls. While I've sort of come round to the fact the mainstream press to the the right are the only ones covering these issues with any sense (and are much better at giving their readers what they want), it still sometimes gives me pause for thought. I'm definitely on the other side of the generational divide these days...

Seconding that comment. I like to read a wide variety of news sources and know about editorial biases. The Mail often has good coverage on issues relating to women. By contrast, The Guardian is appalling.

I’m really baffled. What has the UK come to when so few men will speak up for women. He’s a tremendous ally and he’s risking so much. Why is speaking up for women so contentious. And thank god people like James Dreyfus call B/S on all this. I’ll buy tickets for anything he ever does. Perhaps some other men who call themselves pro feminist could get their act together

This might be true much of the time but when the Daily Mail article reflects Orwell's "One has to belong to the intelligentsia to believe things like that: no ordinary man could be such a fool" you'll find the comments governed by common sense.

Oh I utterly, utterly adore James Dreyfus.

Has been a total crush for years, but his stance on Womens and Gay Rights in the past few years has SO elevated him. He's an absolute darling.

Anything we can do to help him, I'm there.
