I'm actually surprised he hasn't been given exactly what he asked for as scotgov are very TWAW and have allowed men in women's prisons for years. They can self identify and therefore get what they would see as soft time. I remember looking at inmate figures and there being a rise of murder and rape in the scottish female prison population, because of the amount of male prisoners now in female units.

Up until recent years, there was only one female prison in Scotland but now they have units attached to most of the other prisons and the original prison is currently being downsized/rebuilt and will house on the more serious prisoners.

Everything trans rights activists demand has happened here, everything they tell us would happen, has, indeed happened, but this has disadvantaged this trans-identified prisoner. What now?

They cannot simply demand that a higher risk female is housed with lower risk ones because they dismiss our concerns about male prisoners held in the female estate by claiming that if a male really posed a risk to female prisoners, that male would be held in a high risk facility anyway, just like a high-risk female would.

They cannot ignore it either. Because on the face of it, this seems like a case where someone discriminated against on the basis of gender reassignment.

The headline is confusing.
Surely instead of "Trans murderer" suggesting that a 'trans' person has been a victim, it should be "Murdering 'transwoman' would be out of prison...".?
