I loved this

There was some criticism at the time about Hayley Cropper being played by a female, and apparently Julie Hesmondhalgh felt so stung by the criticism that she spoke up strongly in support of the GRA legislation (you know the one - the parliamentary sleight of hand and legal fiction enacted to delay same-sex marriage).
