Queer theorists would have us stay with pedophiles now apparently.

There's no longer any good reason for a woman to leave a man

Ugh them again. I'm astounded they haven't a) been kicked off twitter and b) investigated by the authorities.

Perhaps astounded is the wrong word because really I'm not surprised by any of this anymore.

TinselAngel · 06/02/2021 14:38

That their Twitter bio says they're a child protection organisation, actually makes me feel sick.

OP posts:
Fallingirl · 06/02/2021 14:39

Hadn’t heard of them before, so I just googled them. Not exactly hiding their intent, are they?

This is how they describe themselves:

“ We are a child protection organization that combines our zero tolerance of child sexual abuse with our commitment to human and civil rights and sex positivity.”

“Sex positivity” is always a red flag.

willFOURbagsbeenough · 06/02/2021 14:40

That’s quite sickening.

OvaHere · 06/02/2021 14:40

We've had a few threads on them.

OvaHere · 06/02/2021 14:44

I think Sarah Phillimore had some sort of legal run in with them too.

OhHolyJesus · 06/02/2021 14:45

Thanks for that reminder Ova they are dodgy as hell and it is madness that they can still be on social media, but it's just another example of how safeguarding is being lost and we have to keep sticking up for the kids and protecting them.

Child protection? They don't know the meaning of the words. Makes me sick.

QueenoftheAir · 06/02/2021 15:25

I started to read the article linked to.

It's utterly unspeakably awful.

Using "MAP' - minor attracted person - instead of paedophile, because, the writer says, her partner will never act on his attraction.

I just can't imagine what it must be like to be in a romantic, sexual, and domestic relationship with a man who openly admits he prefers 11 year old girls. Yes, the writer tells us, unapologetically, her partner's preference is for 11-15 year old girls

She's being abused & gaslighted, and she doesn't realise it.

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 06/02/2021 15:29

Hiding in plain sight.

TheSockMonster · 06/02/2021 15:35

Dear lord, why did I go on that website.

I would summarise that article as: Women! Stop doing things that might force men to rape children.

Also, I don’t believe it is written by a woman. Hardly scientific, but Gender Guesser seems to agree with me.

FrankButchersDickieBow · 06/02/2021 15:40

That has actually turned my stomach.

guinnessguzzler · 06/02/2021 15:41

Yes, that was one of the most disturbing aspects of that piece.

Another issue I had was the tacit assumption that everyone's darkest sexual fantasies require an outlet. No. It's not right to support paedophiles to find a way to feel like they are having sex with children 'without harming children' via role play, robots, dolls, whatever it may be, just as it isn't right to feed some men's rape fantasies. These things are not healthy and a responsible, compassionate society should work on helping people not to develop these urges in the first place, or to reduce them once developed, whilst protecting those around them, rather than finding a 'safe' outlet for them. Sadly, I can see a future where stating this view will be criticised as advocating conversion therapy.

Imnobody4 · 06/02/2021 15:46

Finding an 'outlet' is actually reinforcing the urges. I'm so sick of all this sophistry.

Wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 06/02/2021 15:47

Vile

I wouldn't be at all surprised by that (not read it because I'm not going on that site).

Astroturfing whether via anonymous articles like this or social media and comments sections are deliberately designed to give the impression that a particular demographic group supports something. In this case it's women, attempting to gaslight us into thinking it's a common mindset we should support as 'progressive'.

QueenoftheAir · 06/02/2021 15:58

I wondered about that, too. I thought "surrendered wife" - it read like a Stepford wife, or someone with STockholm syndrome.

Delphinium20 · 06/02/2021 17:21

In light of the recent killing of 2 FBI agents as they served an arrest warrant on a pedophile, it does not surprise me that pedophiles will go to extraordinary lengths of all kinds, including institutional capture wherever they can find it. I see no redemption with these types of criminals...

BuntingEllacott · 06/02/2021 17:36

Can we call a space and shovel here? If your husband tells you he fancies having sex with children but would never do it, it is entirely laudable to leave his sorry paedo arse and make sure you warn all your friends and family that he is a pervert.

Jesus wept, this should be obvious.

I read it. I'm not prepared to make excuses for her. She's an adult woman and she's trying to normalise this too. She has as much responsibility as him.

I agree. If your partner is literally telling you that they are attracted to other people, the problem isn't their gaslighting.

HeadPain · 06/02/2021 19:02

"Is protecting children really worth it, if it means we might get less porn?"

Their tweet:
"Requiring government ID and biometric identity verification will slash the number of amateurs willing to risk posting content online. Is it worth it to reduce the chance that some of them may be minors?"

merrymouse · 06/02/2021 19:11

And apparently this is all OK on twitter.

allmywhat · 06/02/2021 19:13

I went to their Twitter to find the article.

Got a few Tweets down and came across this.

Requiring government ID and biometric identity verification will slash the number of amateurs willing to risk posting content online. Is it worth it to reduce the chance that some of them may be minors?

Envy not envy they aren't trying hard to hide who they are, are they? You'd have to be very naive to fall for this "support group" bullshit, this is 100% about pushing the boundaries of what is socially acceptable, a little bit at a time. They're a new incarnation of PIE, and everything they post or write is aimed at greasing up the slippery slope.

allmywhat · 06/02/2021 19:14
