I started a new job a few months ago. I witnessed some suggestive comments directed at some female members of staff. I was personally told that the room I was in 'was hot because of the hot member of staff'(clearly about me because there was no one else in the room). The latest quite strange situation occurred just before Christmas. All the members of our team decided to stay on at work and organise a small get together. Due to the restrictions, we just brought some food in. I and my line manager went to the staff canteen to pick up some bits. Another member of staff was quite curious about what we were doing. The three of us had a brief chat, my line manager (male) said that we brought some 'hampers in'. Out of the blue, the operations manager said 'and some blankets'. It is still bugging me to this day. I am trying to avoid too many details. Typical story of a new employee afraid of being THE troublemaker. Am I just being too sensitive or paranoid? I mean, I had experienced some serious harassment before. I just wonder if after being traumatized I am simply overreacting.
