Our message needs to be heard all across the country. I wonder if the people who complained about these signs and had them removed will at least think about what was written.

That's a nice, unbiased, even-handed piece of journalism... not.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 03/02/2021 18:48

"Shocking signs" ffs. For saying they have been vilified and attacked for wanting to protect female rights and child safeguarding?

Yes it is fucking shocking, just not the way the article frames it.

The article has 74k likes. How sad so many hate females.

DeaconBoo · 03/02/2021 18:52

What an awful sign and what a great shame it's now published on a news website where far more poor unsuspecting people will be forced to see it compared with where it originally was.... oh dear.

yourhairiswinterfire · 03/02/2021 19:06

''Shocking signs''. ''Inappropriate''. How very dramatic.

I'd love to hear anyone who feels that way coherently explain what it is about women having rights and the safeguarding of children that is 'inappropriate'.

Also love how the author puts ''being silenced'' in scare quotes as if it's not happening...in an article they're writing with an example of that exact thing happening. D'oh 🤦‍♀️

MedusasBrandyButter · 03/02/2021 19:18

Lousy vox pop... what, these interviewees seriously didn't even have an age to make us identify with their views? Wink

I was trying to figure out where you saw that the article had 74K likes, it’s not the article but their Facebook page! The article is also posted on their Facebook page and the comments look better m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1879566822202583&id=929733080519300

Love Kerry Griffith's comment!

How terrible that the story was reported in the paper. Imagine if people read it and heard about women's rights. Awful.

theskyispink · 04/02/2021 17:28

Don't join a website called... what did you say, Edinburgh Live... LGB Alliance? Is that it? This campaigner with their shocking signs and lovely handwriting and advocation of women's rights... wouldn't want to visit that website, no no...

LGB Alliance, you say...?

ItsIgginningtolooklikelockdown · 04/02/2021 17:32

Edinburghlive is just an internet gossip column, there's no print version. Pops up on Facebook if you're in Scotland.

theskyispink · 04/02/2021 17:36

Glasgow Live just nicks shit off Reddit, so that's the level of discourse we're dealing with here.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 04/02/2021 18:44

Someone in the Fbook comments points out that the majority of people shouting 'transphobe' are white men

JellySlice · 04/02/2021 20:44

I rather that article (shame about the poor photography, chopping the bottom off the picture). It manages to say how awfully awful the signs were, while signposting people to exactly the concepts and websites that the signs were signposting. Job done.
