I'm so so angry! Have they nothing better to do, in a bloody pandemic? Nothing better to spend the money on? Angry

I've had a search on safe schools and transgender trend for resources to use when I write to object, there's nothing specific about this particular 'award', but I can cobble something together. I can do without having to address this shit just now! The website school redirects to says it was created by allsorts and the Proud Trust ffs, the website still has the genderbread person on Confused I paid for and sent school a hard copy of SSA RSE guidance when it came out, do they use it as a bloody door stop?!

Sorry I'm ranting, but I'm so pissed off. I checked the inclusion etc policies before choosing this secondary school for DD, and found nothing to suggest this was on the horizon. DD has additional needs, very low self esteem and is driven by a need to conform and be who she thinks people in authority want her to be, this crap is the absolute last thing I want her exposed to by her school.

Does anyone have any templates or resources I can pinch re this particular 'award' please, to save me completely reinventing the wheel? Thanks in advance.

Oh, dear.

I'd be checking transgender trend and/or the safe schools alliance for resources.

Glinners website did a post on it with a sample letter that may help. Am I allowed to post a link?

is there a big push on at the moment? You may find this thread helpful as well OP. I know Stonewall recently published its plans to target schools again (hope they have totally rewritten their materials to comply with the government guidelines).

I wonder if the bearded lesbian that is Alex Drummond is compliant with government guidelines as well?

What I just can't get my head around is are (head)teachers a special breed that they just don't see the issues?
I can't understand it, surely they must be representative of the rest of the population. Why aren't they refusing to invite this woo in their school?
I don't get it.
Is it something that diversity/inclusion teams in the LEA/Academy Trusts push?

Ask the head if they are happy to play the dice game in the governors meeting. Perhaps at the next online PTA meeting...?

Schools have been really disadvantaged by the #nodebate strategy. They have young teachers recently out of universities singing the trans mantra. All the Unions have been firmly captured. Stonewall has self identified themselves as "experts" in education, bullying, equality etc. We all know how time consuming it is to unpick the fake law and statistics presented and when faced with demands from the most oppressed group the whole word over, they just cave in.

Having said that, as UppityPuppity suggests, evidencing the Proud Trust's infamous 'Dice Game' from their pack for schools might make most of them stop and think.

If any such materials are suggested at my DC’s school, I will directly ask the head to play the dice game with me, I will formally minute it and will send the results to OFSTED - not kidding either.

Remember schools are a three-way relationship between school, child and parents!

Beamur · 30/01/2021 17:49

Can you ask to see the criteria for this?
Maybe also ask if there is a fee and if so, how much the school are paying.

Thanks all - I sent the Glinner letter to my MP (he didn't reply), some good stuff on the Mermaids thread too. They really are all scrabbling around for their income from schools still aren't they? I'll try to craft something tonight once DC are in bed (and try not to have nightmares about playing the dice game with the head)

Smile

All in a good cause - the aim is to give the Head nightmares!
