(Since the other Biden thread reached its limit.) The interviewer is Madeleine Kearns.

If I could get up and shake Biden … I would do it. He is a total idiot to allow kids to do this. An absolute idiot. Transgenderism, medical transitioning, is plastic surgery. It creates an illusion. If you go into it, thinking that it changes anything, you come out at the end with the only long-term study that tells us the highest suicidal ideation is seven to ten years after medical transition. Why do you think that is? Because you have to face reality at some time. So, we’re taking children that suffer from mental illness, that suffer from a dysphoria, that don’t fit in, and we’re clumping them into a group of people that are listed like superheroes right now to medically transition.

And they’re going to grow up and they’re going to hit 25. And they’re going to say, “Hey, mom and dad, I can’t have kids. 90 percent of the population won’t date me. I have early onset osteoporosis. My heart is the size of a twelve-year-old, because you paused my puberty. I have anxiety. I have all these things and you know what? Now I’m in the wrong body. Now I’m going to kill myself.” So, we have a president that is pushing this because he’s too much of an idiot to say, “You know what, maybe we should study this.”

A lot of respect for Newgent, the clarity, articulacy and total lack of waffle is always impressive in this day and age. A lot of blunt common sense here.

Commenting on Keira Bell's case and why it found in her favour:

the reason why it passed, by the way, is because that judge said, “Hey guys, we’re not going to talk about, ‘I feel, I felt.’ What we are going to talk about are the facts.” So, every time Mermaids [a U.K. charity promoting sex-changes for children] and the transgender activists argued, “But people are going to kill themselves!” The court said, “Where’s the study?” “Well, hormone blockers are safe.” Where’s the study? “Well it helps mental illness. Here’s the study!” You mean the study that was retracted? “How about this study?” No, that one was retracted, too. Do you have a study that wasn’t retracted that says it helped mental health? No? Okay, we’re not going to do that. So basically, it came down to the fact that we have no firm understanding of what happens to people when they medically transition. What we do have is the documented list of problems, mental illness, this and that, and guess what? It’s not a good idea. And it had nothing to do with a political stance.

Will be fascinating to see whether the appeal continues to stand on those grounds or does indeed become focused on feelings.

Well done Scott.

TheCoolNightAirLikeShalimar2 · 29/01/2021 10:59

The light is blinding. Love to KB and the judge.

persistentwoman · 29/01/2021 11:11

Fantastic interview. That list of medical problems that he had is terrifying.

ArabellaScott · 29/01/2021 11:16

Utterly heartbreaking what Scott has been through.

How did we arrive here? How did we get to the point where someone is actually advocating for medical procedures that cause so much harm?

PinkyParrot · 29/01/2021 11:16

I can’t have kids. 90 percent of the population won’t date me. I have early onset osteoporosis. My heart is the size of a twelve-year-old, because you paused my puberty.

Put this way ----- really shocking. I didnt' know about the heart size.

NonnyMouse1337 · 29/01/2021 11:24

I have a lot of respect for Scott Newgent for speaking up about all of this.

Absolutely, he has been through so much and it is really good that he is speaking out.

Is that heart comment correct?

What about all the other friends? I've never heard of this.

Datun · 29/01/2021 12:10

Organs! Not 'friends'.

JellySlice · 29/01/2021 14:01

I should like to read this article, but every time I click on the link I get a glimpse of the Scot Newgent headline but end up in an article complaining the Biden is legislating pro-abortion. The usual uncomfortable bedfellows. Are there any organisations that are both pro women's rights to their existence and pro women's rights to their own bodies? Surely the two go hand-in-hand?

JellySlice · 29/01/2021 14:02

I still haven't been able to read the Newgent article.

gardenbird48 · 29/01/2021 14:27

Is that heart comment correct?

I’ve seen a detransitioner (I think, either that or she’s taken the same drugs for another reason) on Twitter describe their health issues - she now has all sorts of health issues and fatigue and pain.

Look up Lupron reported side effects if you haven’t seen that already - it is an eye opener.

OldCrone · 29/01/2021 14:47

@JellySlice

I still haven't been able to read the Newgent article.
The link in the OP worked for me, but this one should go straight to the article.

KittyValentine · 29/01/2021 15:09

Talking about Lupron:

This article has been posted before on FWR, but I’ll link it again. It’s long but very interesting. It sets out the dangers of giving Lupron to children (specifically talking about precocious puberty).

www.statnews.com/2017/02/02/lupron-puberty-children-health-problems/

I made a list of some of the reported symptoms from patients who have taken the drug:-

Deteriorating jaw joint; degenerative disc disease; fibromyalgia; shedding tooth enamel and cracked teeth; brittle bones; faulty joints; mood swings; headaches; osteopenia (thinning of the bones); osteoporosis; cracked spine; total hip replacement needed; degenerative disc disease; depression; anxiety; seizures; blood disorder; blurred vision.

Malahaha · 29/01/2021 15:22

I first read it fine on my laptop. Now, on my phone, I'm getting the same problem: abortion article instead of the one linked.

I read Scott's article about the health problems caused by SRS surgery - really nightmarish. I've got a lot of respect for their determination to highlight the issue of 'trans kids' and the refusal to mince words about it.

JellySlice · 29/01/2021 16:47

I mannered to read it on a laptop. The last few paragraphs should be the manifesto for trans rights.

lockdownshmockdown · 30/01/2021 21:16

Excellent interview. Thanks for sharing.

MedusasBrandyButter · 01/02/2021 10:31

Wow. I remember when Scott was planning to take the TreVoices on tour to the UK, and that didn't come off, and I have to admit I'm glad, because the US is where he's needed. That is where his experience (of the US) and voice will really make a difference, because that's where all this happened to him, and could happen to many more people, for years. By the same token, Keira Bell's case, as important as it is in the UK, doesn't mean much to US children, not least because they don't have an NHS, and they haven't had legal gender reassignment since 2004, as the UK has.

wonderstuff · 01/02/2021 10:55

Great article, huge respect for Scott, poor guy has been through so much.

FWRLurker · 01/02/2021 12:12

To a PPs question there are a few growing grassroots orgs in the us that are openly feminist and pro abortion and gender critical. WoLF, FIST, WHRC-USA, LGBAllianceUSA.

Hands across the aisle is a bipartisan org and they do not take a stance on abortion. There’s also a bipartisan parents of trans teens org, can’t remember the name.

In my opinion, the right with few exceptions doesn’t actually care about this issue, or wouldn’t if democrats weren’t so busy digging their own graves. Right Wingers see that the Dems have left themselves WIDE open by advocating for policies that basically no one actually supports and are going in for the kill... it’s strategic.

I would say that it's the old establishment right like the Mitch McConnell and Mitt Romneys who don't care about the issue. The newer populist right do care. I saw so many memes and tweets about the executive order and amplification of the issue. Steve Bannon has a daily podcast that has mentioned Title IX every day since the order was signed and has had legislators such as the Attorney General of Texas pressing him to sue. Another guest he had on appealed to "Girl Dads" and also pointed out how it will be Black and Hispanic girls who will mostly lose out on scholarships. His petition to save womens sports already has over 20,000 signatures. There are new bills being filed daily to protect Title IX www.texastribune.org/2021/01/30/texas-republicans-transgender-students-sports/
So the Dems rightly face a pincer movement on this.
