@OldFolksTalkinBoutBackinMyDay2 that's really encouraging to hear..

If I could be bothered I'd comment with surprise that "mn don't allow transphobia and anything as such gets deleted.

All I've seen is respectful debate of women's issues, including a few positive contributions supporting us from trans people.

Misogyny also gets deleted..."

accessorizequeen · 22/01/2021 14:15

Think it’s been taken down now

accessorizequeen · 22/01/2021 14:17

Sorry - Some comments have been removed. I had commented - trying to figure out what they removed.

TrashedWarrior · 22/01/2021 14:20

I can still see it.

TrashedWarrior · 22/01/2021 14:20

Yes I've noticed some have been filtered out / removed. Annoying.

accessorizequeen · 22/01/2021 14:23

One of the men commenting had a screenshot of a comment on here saying that transwomen were biological males and people can’t change sex. That was his example of transphobia. That was removed.

Good grief. So does he genuinely believe otherwise?

I guess he does. I asked why he thought a fact was transphobic but that was also removed. I also posted a list of rights that women were concerned would be impacted - also removed.

picklemewalnuts · 22/01/2021 14:36

I'm sure people who aren't in the know would be shocked and also intrigued to hear about a forum of poisonous women plotting away in corners. They'd pop over to see what awful conspiracies we're hatching. And leave sadly disappointed with a few recipes, advice on managing chickenpox scabs and a healthy respect for the need for sex based rights.

JK Rowling's views which I support got attention on Mock the Week last night, with part of the 'scenes we'd like to see' emphasising that Harry Potter is a boy.

So was Mock the Week speaking up for reality, and indirectly for JKR? I'm surprised but impressed if they had the courage to do that.

GAHgamel · 23/01/2021 01:38

I didn't interpret it that way, no. The tone used was basically implying that JKR was hysterical/unhinged.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 23/01/2021 06:14

Oh, I thought that was too good to be true from Mock the Week, GAHgamel. What a bunch of lickspittles.

Winesalot · 23/01/2021 08:03

I think these attempts tend to have the Streisand effect.

On one hand It is quite funny though that at the moment there is just the one remaining misogynist calling women dumb and bigoted and a couple of women chiming in. But it is so disjointed now it barely makes any sense.

On the other hand, the targeting is relentless and juvenile.

Wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 23/01/2021 08:16

Meh, men targeting Mumsnet is old news.

I'm old enough to remember when F4J started a public campaign against Mumsnet for daring to side with single mums.

CranberriesChoccyAgain · 23/01/2021 15:09

One wonders how far the woke extends with straight guys (the one in those comments appears to be married to a woman). If his wife decided she identified as a man, would he be okay with then declaring himself to be in a gay relationship?

Yes it's always been very male-heavy, and often featured the odious Frankie Boyle. It was really disappointing to see people like Hugh Dennis and Dara O'Brien laugh at his misogynistic 'jokes'. Sounds like it hasn't got any better since I stopped watching it.
CranberriesChoccyAgain · 23/01/2021 19:59

Surely the TRAs will be out in full force to give them a dressing down for their misogyny, as after all we are to think that TWAW and therefore TW should be offended by misogyny. Or is misogyny only directed at a certain kind of woman?

PlantMam · 24/01/2021 13:37

Come here to spectate the ‘bigotry’, fall through the ‘radicalisation portal’, end up a Radfem.

Keep signposting women over, Facebook misogynists! We’re waiting to welcome them in, we even have Gin

MichelleofzeResistance · 24/01/2021 14:22

We do indeed PlantMam

Cake, logic and common sense too.

Or is misogyny only directed at a certain kind of woman?

I think the point there might be that if you're the type of woman who is a good girl and compliant with the misognyny then you're let off at least some of the nastier expressions of it in behaviour.

A bit at least. I think there's less rape threats.

Let's be honest, it's a Billy Goats Gruff type matter of 'please go and eat my sister, she's much noisier about women's rights than me'.
