Women's Human Rights Campaign - UN NGO forum in March

This was shared with me in another group - apparently the UN women's unit (UN Women) are wavering on the definition of woman and sometimes indicating they think anyone who says they have a female "gender identity" is a woman.- do come along and make it clear what women's views on this actually are!

While the TRAs may also of course show up (especially since I've shared this here), it is to be hoped that lots of actual women stating their opinions might carry more weight.

From Women's Human Rights Campaign:

Dear Signatory,

I'm writing to ask if you would come along (virtually via the internet) to the United Nations NGO forum that runs alongside the Commission on the Status of Women this March. It's a ten day event that you can drop in and out of. There are webinars and events run by women's groups from all over the world and there are often really interesting speakers.

Currently the UN women's unit (UN Women) are waivering on the definition of woman and sometimes indicating they think anyone who says they have a female "gender identity" is a woman. We want to participate in lots of meetings, and where possible, make points in the chat, or ask questions or share links to the Declaration and other documents, to show that many of us don't want woman to be redefined in this way.

Please register to be an advocate. It's free. You don't have to attend many meetings, but registering will mean you can. It will give you access to the programme.

This is the link for you to register:

Been meaning to post about this so thanks for creating a thread. It would be great if lots of women signed up.

Signed up. I was also dithering on posting it here because of it being bombarded with a view to TRAs capturing personal details about people. Use a psuedo-name perhaps?

I look forward to hearing their latest definition.
We can add it to the list:

Sorry to be flippant, but I am fucking sick of all these so-called women's organisations who take the money but fail to stand up for women.

Yes that's sensible. I dithered about posting it here too but thought they are bound to find out anyway and it's more important to have lots of US there!

Gawd that Helen Joyce link...

Anything, anything at all to avoid having to mention that it means biologically female human. It's so bleeding obvious that the know that's what it means by the sheer desperation and dancing around avoiding it.

No eye rolls big enough.

It would be nice if unwoman's cognitive dissonance was clanging to the point they're starting to think; goodness knows if they don't get it there's no point to them. And yes, definitely do nothing under identifiable information.
