I am a social researcher in a UK university. Earlier I saw this link to a survey about 'diversity and inclusion' in the social research profession.
How diverse is the social research profession?
@theyoungfdn have launched a survey to understand who is working in the sector and exploring experiences of #diversity. If you work in research answer the survey surveymonkey.co.uk/r/6386H6Q to aid a future fairer, diverse sector.
twitter.com/HattieResearch/status/1348925453877313537Despite listing the protected characteristics a the outset of the survey, there don't appear to be any questions about sex, only a question about gender, which is clearly asking about gender identity and not biological sex:
What best describes your gender?
Male
Female
I don't identify as either
Prefer not to say
This is so depressing. I was listening to Alice Sullivan on R4 just this morning explaining so clearly why we need data on sex AND gender. If a survey aimed at social researchers can't even get this right, what hope do we have??
