I am shocked at how little people have been banned for. A lot of them are just statements of fact.

OhHolyJesus · 14/01/2021 21:58

@thinkingaboutLangCleg sorry I missed your post, Glinner shared it I see. The deadline is tomorrow! If you miss it, the select committee has another with deadline at the end of this month, 31st.

Thanks, Holy. We’ve got till Friday 11.59pm so I’ll go for it.

Serious question: if Twitter bans people for dehumanising language that 'reduces people to their genitals', why is it not banning all those numerous TRA accounts and all the woke medical accounts that refer to women as 'cervix-havers'?

I feel pretty dehumanised by that kind of language. I am not a 'cervix-haver', I am a woman.

Has anyone tried reporting posts that refer to women in this way, on the grounds it is dehumanising language and therefore contrary to Twitter's terms and conditions?

persistentwoman · 15/01/2021 20:43

This seems a pertinent thread to bump this evening!

Melroses · 15/01/2021 20:56

Indeed.

Stop talking about the things we know about better than you!!!!

ArabellaScott · 15/01/2021 21:15

So, there are certain laws women are not allowed to discuss, too.

We should make a list of the things women are not allowed to discuss.

Yes. Frequently. Strangely enough calling women cervix havers and vagina owners is never found to be reducing people to their genitals, so all the reports come back with thanks and the reassurance that no rules have been broken. It's a complete mystery.

MichelleofzeResistance · 15/01/2021 22:05

Interesting that it's absolutely fine and virtuous to talk all you want about removing and winding back female people's rights. And on Twitter to talk openly about raping and murdering them. But to talk about even discussing a law affecting other people's rights?

Apparently that's all kinds of wrong.

Make sense of that if you can.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 15/01/2021 22:08

Thanks, Glinner and Holy!

I once saw what I think was an archive of violent online abuse of women by TRAs. Has anyone got a link? or to other representative sources of misogynistic abuse? preferably archived, so it won't disappear.

I'm rushing to complete a submission to the HoL committee before 11.59pm. Seeking some URLs as evidence.

MichelleofzeResistance · 15/01/2021 22:10

Terfisaslur.com is stomach churning but demonstrates fast what the issues are.

ArabellaScott · 15/01/2021 22:26

PM'd you, thinking.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 16/01/2021 08:39

Thanks, Arabella Star
