Sorry if thread on this already, couldn't see one.
Published by the Scottish Government on 18 December data.gov.scot/genderindex/gender-equality-index-2020.html
Looks at the differences between men and women in Work, Money, Time, Knowledge, Power and Health
Sounds interesting and important, but guess what?
"In the majority of the data sources used in the Gender Equality Index the respondent has been asked to self-identify either their gender identity or sex by selecting from a choice of binary options of man/male or woman/female, therefore the terms ‘men’ and ‘women’ have been used throughout this report"
So it won't actually tell us the difference between men and women.
The low score for Power was driven by women’s underrepresentation on the boards of private and public sector organisations, and in senior positions across police, the judiciary, the media and sport
Easily improved by getting some more transwomen into senior positions?
And here's another one www.gov.scot/publications/time-use-scotland-2020-gender-analysis-ons-online-time-use-survey/
which says
As respondents were asked to self-identify their sex, we have reported this as gender, and have therefore used the terms men and women
