Excellent

JGACC · 17/12/2020 21:02

The ratio on the critically sheeping, oops sorry speaking Twitter is glorious. She's fantastic!

teawamutu · 17/12/2020 21:08

Magnificent woman.

Good for her! And she seems to have lots of support - not surprising.

MoltenLasagne · 17/12/2020 21:14

What a fantastic thread, thanks for sharing.

MerchedCymru · 17/12/2020 23:03

Awesome woman. Glad to share a country with her!

NoraEphronsTurkeyNeck · 17/12/2020 23:12

Oh I saw this on Twitter earlier. Good for her!!

EarthSight · 17/12/2020 23:15

I'm disgusted by their sentiments on Twitter -

mobile.twitter.com/Critic_Speak

The appetite for finding white privileged is insatiable, and even extends to finding it in a historically oppressed minority with a minority language (given that the entire population is similar to Greater Manchester).

Of course Welsh arts leaders are mostly white - that kind of makes sense given the overwhelming white ethnicity of most of Wales!

Also, I would love to ask most people in Gwynedd (the 2nd poorest paid county in the United Kingdom with loads of unstable, temporary jobs) how they feel about being 'privileged'.

MerchedCymru · 18/12/2020 00:19

Cheering to see that the comments are overwhelmingly supportive of her - plenty of people suggesting that Uncritical Speak / Hypocritical Speak might be more appropriate names for the organisation concerned.

We've featured her on our FB page: www.facebook.com/MerchedCymru - a bit of seasonal good cheer.

Thanks for sharing.

Brilliant set of tweets and she's spot on in her analysis.

PotholeParadies · 18/12/2020 01:32

Brilliant thread.

Amazing. Do you remember that time in the summer when everyone in social media virtue-signaled that they were going to listen to black voices more, and vowed that they would signal-boost black voices? Yet cancellation-culture seems to be hitting black women pretty hard. Wrong sort of black people, voicing their iwn thoughts, instead of compliantly reflecting back what white people keep telling each other what black women think.

BraveBananaBadge · 18/12/2020 09:50

Just super. Gave me the chills to read, just like JKR’s essay. So much clarity and sense, and with class too.

Critically Speaking have showed themselves for the fools they are. Why would anyone take them seriously after that?

Yes I think that's a good point.
