Jubilant scenes as Argentina passes a bill that would see abortion legalised in the country up to 14 weeks. Congratulations to the courageous campaigners fighting for women to have the right to determine what happens to their own bodies.

The bill needs to get through the Senate but it's a significant step forward:

Wasn't aware of this, thank you

Wonderful news!

Some good news for once! Huge achievement for the women who've been campaigning for this.

Surprising in Catholic South America, but great for the health and safety of women there. Let’s hope the right to bodily autonomy and control of their own fertility spreads across that continent. I never want to read about one more child rape victim being forced to give birth.

wow, I opened this with a sense of trepidation, as women seem to be in receipt of the shitty end of the stick more than usual at the moment.

but what good news, and what amazing work by the women who brought this about. what a genuine achievement

Well done those women, such good news. I hope Poland is taking note.
