Nice to see this called out for what it is:

it seems to many that the very organisations that grew out of the second-wave feminist movement, such as Rape Crisis Scotland – who campaigned against Lamont's amendment, no longer represent all women, but instead stand up for narrow vested interests.

The article is asking feminists to unite around sex - and trans positive feminists dont believe in sex!

And also, as the WPUK conference proved, the conditions for a rebirth of Women's Liberation dont exist. Because WLM was based on a network of small autonomous groups whether local or common interest coming together to forward common causes.

Now we mainly have fanzine feminism, and concept that some lead whilst others follow. Again contrary to the non hierarchical practice of WLM.

I think this is why the advances, or is that rear guard actions, of today's feminism is happening in the courts.

@SuzanneRaspberry

We need to have compassionate discussions with one another in order to try and live peacefully together and not strip the other of human rights.

I recommend 'Becoming Eve' by Abby Stein, an autobiography about her life as an Ultra-Orthodox Jewish woman of trans experience and a Direct Descendant of Hasidic Judaism's founder for a fresh perspective and better understanding of what its like to be transgender.

As usual, assuming that women must do that emotional labour for males.

What books detailing female experience of oppression do you encourage transpeople to read, explaining to them how important it is to have compassion for, say, female victims of male violence?

Besides anything else,I could have as much compassion as you or anyone else could demand AND STILL DISAGREE that TWAW, self ID, pediatric transition, the rights of males to access female same sex provision...

I've spent my entire female life struggling with female socialisation to care for others, put their needs first. I'm done with that shit. I've spent almost half a century on it. Enough.
