and now we look stupid

Err why do WE look stupid?

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 09/12/2020 15:37

I agree - we aren’t the stupid ones...

OhHolyJesus · 09/12/2020 15:45

I don't think they have changed their policy, an email received today suggests it is still according to customer preference:

"However, in line with most other retailers we will generally allow people to use the fitting room which they prefer, with our colleagues exercising discretion and common sense."

So it's on the staff (mostly women) again.

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 09/12/2020 15:46

I’d prefer to use the directors personal office myself... I’d feel much more comfortable there.

MichelleofzeResistance · 09/12/2020 16:18

Is M&S the one where perverts openly bragged about ejaculating on women's clothes, and getting off on the thought on unsuspecting women wearing them?

That's the one. Oh and hoping gleefully that women might take their shoes off in the changing rooms and walk in ejaculations left on the floor for them.

I have a No Male Person When I've Got Clothes Off And Want Privacy And Not To Be An Unwilling Participator In Someone Else's Sexual Experience gender. I'd like a suitable changing room please. But not in M&S because I wouldn't now go in there without a hazmat suit.

PotholeParadies · 09/12/2020 16:23

Right. No money for M&S from me then.

Let's see how much money people who like to use changing rooms to ejaculate in actually spend.

Do you have any badges? I'd like one.

You’d need a sandwich board nowadays

HecatesCatsInXmasHats · 09/12/2020 17:13

I was thinking a huge rosette Rufus

MichelleofzeResistance · 09/12/2020 17:23

And a hat.

Obvs.

HecatesCatsInXmasHats · 09/12/2020 17:24

Wouldn't work without a hat

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 09/12/2020 17:26

Dammit why did i forget the hat!

Doh!

Obviously would need the hat

AllDoneIn · 09/12/2020 17:32

Is there a simple boycott list anywhere? Like a list of companies throwing biological women under the proverbial bus so men can comfortably wear frilly pants in a woman's changing room and review their experience of getting a thrill? I really want to know where not to let my nearly teen daughter shop alone.

Al1langdownthecleghole · 09/12/2020 17:44

I don't understand why Emma Nicholson posted that on Twitter and why everyone has responded as if this is fact. It's embarrassing. Clearly she jumped the gun and now we look stupid.

I imagine that she was trying to bounce them in to making sure that they follow through on their chair's commiment.

I'll help hold his feet to the fire.

I expect the extremely accomplished Baroness wanted to give us a cue to demonstrate that there was money in it for M&S and to M&S shareholders.

I'm afraid that ship has sailed, our dds are growing up in a very different world to the one we were lucky enough to know. Certainly at the moment I have my lot prepared that male people may be in any and all spaces with any agenda, no one will be thinking about female safety except females themselves, the police are not successfully dealing with even fully evidenced rapes, and so it's better if you're female not to put yourself into situations where you may become a prop in someone else's experience.

It's a huge step back from the culture we were lucky enough to know as kids.

MichelleofzeResistance · 09/12/2020 18:34

I have taken into account too that any female who has been raped and whose case CPS will actually take into a court room, will be faced with a great deal of questioning and focus on what she wore, where she was, should she have been there, should she reasonably have expected there to be a risk, is she culpable of making bad decisions that could be perceived of making her responsible for a male person having decided to assault her.

And that we've just seen two court cases where a judge, sentencing a group of TW having seriously assaulted someone, has blamed the victim of the assault for having provoked the TW.

So I have no doubt that we will come to see that a court would blame a female for being in a mixed sex changing room alone/dressed wrong/ in some other way being culpable for what happened to them.
