Did anybody else hear this?

It was simply wonderful.

Amazing woman and a proper, normal conversation about Steve's experience of sexism at work.

(Dame Shirley worked in IT and adopted the name Steve in the 60s - I think - because she was fed up of sex discrimination before she even walked into a room).

Thanks for the headsup. Could you ask @MumsnetHQ to edit the title so it says Dame? I wasn't sure what I was about to see!

I agree, it was great. What a life she's lived! And how much pressure she puts on herself to always make a difference (obviously successfully). Inspirational.

“Let It Go” her memoir is a must read book . I’m an evangelist for her and buy everyone I know a copy of this . A truly remarkable woman .

I’m lucky to have worked at Priors Court School that she founded .

She is really admirable. Radio 4 Extra recently repeated her Desert Island Discs so it might be on BBC Sounds. Lots of insight on a range of things, like ‘foresight’ going into software. It’s a great listen.

yes she is so inspiring , a great interview. Pity about the fluffy toilet item . They managed as usual to ignore the elephant.
