Lush?

I've just seen that Lush is trending on Twitter, having admitted donating to Woman's Place UK.

I had thought that they took a publicly pro-trans stance previously. Didn't they have signs protesting transphobia and complaining that I ❤️ JKR stickers were transphobic?

I have become confused.

Are they a franchise perhaps?

Nomnomarrgh · 01/12/2020 17:49

They were really nice when I wandered in with my AHF hoodie

Winesalot · 01/12/2020 17:51

Oh my!!!! The purity spiral has tightened. The outcry is loud tonight!!!

Redshoeblueshoe · 01/12/2020 17:52

Ha ha. Twitter is fun tonight . .

Winesalot · 01/12/2020 17:53

There is much to read on twitter tonight.

Redshoeblueshoe · 01/12/2020 17:54

I don't think lush actually admitted anything.
WPUK was sick of being called a far right christian organization, so it published it's accounts
Bath bomb anyone ?

mollscroll · 01/12/2020 17:55

@mollscroll

Thank you for the giggle 🤭

yourhairiswinterfire · 01/12/2020 18:06

Today just keeps getting better and better with the meltdowns.

It's funny, Lush were saints when they were blowing smoke up the arses of TRAs.

Now they've funded WPUK, suddenly TRAs have a problem because Lush also apparently donated to the police after George Floyds death. But that's only just right now began to bother them. It didn't matter when they had smoky asses.

FannyCann · 01/12/2020 18:20

This Lush? Grin

No mention of sexism on that picture I notice...or ableism for that matter.

SophocIestheFox · 01/12/2020 18:33

I love a nice cold glass of schadenfreude, it’s just so zingy and refreshing Grin

Lush, and other would be wokesters: this is how it always ends. You can never be woke enough, and they will turn on you in the end. Just stop lecturing people, sell your thrushbombs and have done!

JustAnotherUserinParadise · 01/12/2020 18:57

@SophocIestheFox Hahahahaaas "thrushbombs".... love it!

Madvixen · 01/12/2020 19:40

Someone has now set up a petition demanding reparations!

WhoWants2Know · 01/12/2020 19:57

Today, between the full moon, Keira's verdict, and Page's coming out, it's genuinely mayhem on Twitter.

It's almost like..

Coconutmeg · 01/12/2020 22:10

Lots of talk of boycotting Lush .
It’s not TRAs - it’s sweet, kind people who just believe they’re doing the right thing

“They were really nice when I wandered in with my AHF hoodie”

That’s because you were only showing one sign, not the full set, which is when you can’t come in according to that poster Wink

EyesOpening · 01/12/2020 23:19

That’s the poster in the shop window from the quoted post except the photo didn’t appear, not the poster who posted the post that I quoted! BlushGrin

There was a tweet where someone asked if he could wear his woman definition T-shirt into a lush store and the - Edinburgh store manager I believe - store tweeted back that he wouldn’t be allowed to wear it. Not sure who could burst into flames or if the staff would need to hide in the panic room etc...
Echobelly · 02/12/2020 08:49

This all kicked off an interesting discussion with DH yesterday. He noticed my silence when he said 'Oh dear Lush have donated to Women's Place' - I basically said to him they are a group started in good faith to help women, not bash trans people (unlike some other groups IMO)... he feels their of the unhealthily 'Just asking questions...?' type but at the same time after discussion he agreed that there are some spaces/situations where it is acceptable for them to be for cis women only. Which I think he always had believed anyway, but I guess, yes, what riles me about this is the 'purity spiral' thing where there's some suggestion we must burn the heretics because 'she retweeted something from a TERF account' or 'they donated to a woman's group that said something I disagreed with' etc.
