Hi everyone, hope you're all well. My names Amelia and I'm a third year documentary photography student at university. I'm currently working on a project about women and their stories, I'm interested in researching topics that women feel affected by and focusing on that during the project. I want this project to encourage and empower women to talk and share stories that affect them.

So my question is, Are there any topics that are female focused that you feel strongly about or have a personal experience with?

You mention the words 'women' and 'female' in your request for information. Can I presume you mean you are conflating the 2?

I'm interested to know who your influences are, please. As in, which artists and photographers you are influenced by.
And what other topics you have done projects on, assuming you do a few over the duration of the course.

I think you're going to have to narrow it down a bit too, to one or two aspects/ themes of a topic. Otherwise your project scope is too wide to be meaningful.

Gynaecological cancer, especially Ovarian (no screening programmes, poor prognosis).

Pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Looking after a toddler in lockdown.

Pregnancy & maternity discrimination. The pay gap. The increasing prevalence of easy to access violent porn and the impact on girls and young women.
