Caroline Nokes - Women & Equalities inquiry on GRA

I’m wondering why Caroline Nokes seems to have made up her mind about this inquiry before it’s happened? Why that article in the times? I’ve checked her voting record and she voted against Gay marriage in 2013 (I know a lot of people did), but it suggests that she’s not particularly liberal. Why would she been so keen to push the trans agenda further? Does she have vested interests? I think she’s in the wrong party...

Being against gay marriage doesn’t mean you will be understanding of or for same sex rights. Lack of legal ability to define sex is a bit of a problem for homosexual rights too!

But yes would be interesting to know her thinking.

Maybe she is trying to atone for voting that way in 2013? Feeling guilty for not supporting gay rights (or not being active/visible enough about it) in the past seems to be a factor for some people who are particularly vocal trans and self ID supporters now. But vested interests is also possible, as is being close to someone who identifies as trans and wanting to "be kind" as a result (as seems to be the case with a certain QC...).

What I more don't understand is why she is basically rerunning the consultation, without apparently having reviewed the responses to the last one (or if she HAS reviewed them, why she's rerunning the same questions without seeming to have taken in the answers given before)?

Sorry should be for sex based rights.

I wondered about atonement. Or possibly a financial interest. Or yes, personal. There seems to be a lot of MPs on both sides (who aren’t very bright) who have bought into the idea that this is the next civil rights movement. That QC... ugh. He’s really set himself up as the saviour of society hasn’t he.

She's probably been targeted and lobbied into it by Stonewall et al
