We are gathering data of Scottish organisations who misinterpret/misrepresent the Equality Act e.g listing Gender/Gender identity as a protected characteristic instead of Sex. Please contact us with any forms/policy documents that are a concern. You can do this on Twitter @Equality_FWS
or via email
[email protected].
Thanks

Good to see. God know there's enough policy capture of our public orgs to keep you busy.

Do you want copies of emails sent to have things changed even if forms have been amended.

Equate scotland is set up for under representation of women in STEM subjects. They never uses the word sex, only women, men and gender but their eligibility criteria for their career clinics is anyone who identifies as a woman and they conflate gender and sex in their FAQS section when discussing positive action.
"Taking Positive Action
Many people are unaware or confused by what positive action means and how it differs from positive discrimination. The difference is crucial. Positive action is a legal measure under the Equality Act (2010) whereas positive discrimination is not.

Positive action is a means to address inequality in the workplace if, for example, there is a significant and evidenced under-representation of a particular group based on protected characteristics (gender, race, disability, for example)."
