James Morton is moving on from the Scottish Trans Alliance.

James is a very bright person - dyareckon he's been poached into actual politics or has got bored of influencing policy? www.equality-network.org/announcing-new-manager/

Definitely need to keep an eye on where they end up. The drive & sociopathic focus on destroying women's rights isn't going to diminish anytime soon.

It's strange - there hasn't been any announcement from an organisation saying that James is joining them, which I'd expect. He has a big profile and has had a huge influence on Scottish trans inclusion policies - especially the prison service which he managed despite having no experience of the criminal justice system prior to advising them.

I wonder if they aren't well? I hope not, for all I wish that James would stop taking womens rights away, I'd not like to see him be unable to work.

Any idea what the views of James's replacement Vic Valentine are?

Interesting that 'he' is used throughout the announcement in reference to James, but pronouns are avoided when introducing Vic - not a he, she or they in sight. I thought deliberate avoidance of pronoun use was considered to be transphobic?

Vic is a "they".

It's interesting to me how many trans and NB people become a professional gender identity - there seem to be a lot of people with gender differences who earn their living from having a gender difference.

This can lead to people being employed on the basis of their trans status, rather than their wider skills. For instance, here are some of Vic's thoughts - which, to me, seem a bit jumbled for someone employed as a communication officer.

Good point about the outrageous transphobia in the announcement. Perhaps Vic wrote it.

As their are only 2 FT employees at STA they've obviously just stepped into the role.
Rather begs the question of how they'd advertise, after all if TWAW and can take women only posts surely it follows any woman or man would be eligible

Becky Kaufman (TW) is an ex prison officer from the US, who is more likely to be the author. I know JM's name was on the guidelines & JM fronted up the whole shit show, but BK left the US, a wife & 8 kids link to 'settle' in Scotland & work on a PhD link BK is STA's 'justice policy officer' 😒

JM has been hugely successful in the work done (screwing over women & girls a plenty) even if GRA reform hasn't quite crossed over the line (yet) & I think the lack of an announcement is not really surprising. JM works best behind closed doors, away from scrutiny & will be keen to get as much done as possible out of view before it's made known which area/position JM has where JM can wreak destruction of any other missed area that women/girls rely on. There truly is 'no rest for the wicked'.

Just re-reading some of The Women Who Wouldn’t Wheesht, and came across James Morton’s name for the first time in ages. She was particularly instrumental in erasing other women’s rights: sociopathic focus indeed.

Anyone know what she’s doing now? Or has she just quietly dipped out of any public role, having done all the damage she could?
