Sadly I think this is more virtue signaling than any sort of stand against misogyny. The request to resign was driven by the loss of a libel case about descriptive language used in a newspaper rather than the fact he was known to have committed domestic violence. If the courts had decided the phrase was too emotive for the facts of what had happened he would still have committed the same violence but Disney would apparently have been fine with it.

Bring back Colin Farrell he is a great in Fantastic Beasts. I was also disappointed with the Depp reveal, I like him as an actor but didn’t feel he fit that particular part probably because of the controlled charisma of Farrell.

Agree that would be a good call.

He's so good at understated evil (think Casino Royale).

Like others I was actually totally underwhelmed by Depp in the films and thought Farrell had him licked in the acting stakes re: the character.

Mads would be an excellent replacement and I think would be far, far better than Depp.

Every post on JKRs Twitter feed is now about 1/3 depp fanatics wanting him back about 1/3 “why are you transphobic” and 1/3 normal replies.
