The bullying by students around the UK of anyone who wont submit to their rainbow mantra continues.

Information via WPUK:

Edinburgh Labour Students today published a statement attacking Ann Henderson, a prominent and respected Labour Party and trade union activist for attending our meeting on Sex and the Census on Sunday 18th October. Around 500 people attended this webinar which you can watch on our YouTube channel.

(NB ELS have now taken down their facebook post which was really nasty in tone.)

James Kirkup has written in the Spectator about student campaign to get Kevin Price sacked from his job as a College porter

Really depressing to see students behave in this way, but as someone commented on facebook, even more depressing to know that these students will one day be in positions of influence, eg media and politics.

I saw someone on Twitter suggesting that people send Kevin Price, the councillor/porter a postcard to express support and thanks. Smile

I looked at the council page on the Clare Union site. The individuals there sound extremely young, including the brain development thing. Nevertheless, going so strongly towards McCarthyism/Chinese cultural revolution/ witch hunts is terrible and a sign of something having gone wrong in the way activism is taught somewhere (schools? wider society? university itself?).

Tolerance as a concept appears to have disappeared or has been turned into something that has nothing to do with its actual meaning (which is complicated enough).
