Does anyone know about this diversity organisation?

My daughters school just informed parents that they are signed up and receiving training from an organisation called Equality and Diversity UK. Website is www.equalityanddiversity.co.uk .

From their website they seem to be mostly focused on race, but they have gender instead of sex listed as a protected characteristic which makes me uncomfortable. Does anyone know anything about them? Thanks

Haven't heard of them, but as they talk about the Equality Act you could just ask the school why they were chosen as they dont seem to know that the EA is about sex (not gender).

I would be asking questions given they have got the protected characteristics wrong.

Another one, eh? This sort of thing is turning into quite the meaty little gravy train for some people, isn’t it? Mmmm, Bisto.....

Definitely Bisto!

This one is new to me OP and looks more corporate than education-based, as in it looks very much like the thing companies bring in more than schools. I too would ask why they were chosen, what trainings they are receiving and how this will be applied to pupils as their schools section talks a lot about embedding EDI into the curriculum.

I would basically ask lots of awkward questions like have the school read the recently released DoE statutory guidance?

Due to the cost of the courses I'd ask which course they chose (full day at 800, half day at 500) and where that funding was coming from, especially if your school does fundraise or struggle with financing other areas or improvements to the school.

Definitely flag up they are misquoting the act they are supposedly training on. Hardly inspires confidence.
Also ask if the content is compliant with new DoE guidelines.
