Facebook book group removes post that has JKR references

Anyone else on the lost in a good book group on Facebook?

Someone just posted a 'who are your favourite female authors?' With a link to an article & it previewed a photo of JKR. There was a bit of she's great & also she can fuck off. I replied a fairly lengthy pro JKR comment & when I posted it the whole post had been deleted.

I understand the mods not wanting to moderate the discussion but is this what is likely to happen now? I'm disappointed as it's about the most neutral territory to flex my views!

I’m not on this group so can’t say for sure, but is it more that the moderators don’t want the group to be a debate on authors themselves, rather than the books they write?
Obviously it’s not ideal to be removing a link to an article about female authors though. Turning off comments might have been a better thing to do, they probably don’t want to have to moderate an argument that may end in complaints to them about other members.

Yeah I understand that, but also think if we're there to talk about books, then we should be able to discuss different opinions. Although the vitriol was out within a few minutes so clearly not
