Shout out to Baroness Nicolson who is facing the usual pile on by the TRAs for daring to defend our rights, and those of children. The abuse seems to have been co-ordinated and targeted, and Arthur Chu and Aidan Comerford appear to be very active participants. The Baroness is so dignified and calm despite the abuse.

She has attempted to open dialogue with Michael Cashman only to be shut down, quelle surprise, he is simply not interested in engaging with anyone. No debate.

The Baroness has also been accused, among many other things, of causing the Iraq War. I thought that Blair, Bush, Cheney etc might have had a hand. But no. It was a woman’s fault. She made them do it. Screenshot above.

One of the active participants is also querying why children can’t consent to sex. Again, screenshot above. Women have been suspended from the cesspool for saying less but this type of rhetoric is allowed to stay.

And this is why we need you Baroness Nicholson - to continue to advocate for us and to continue to fight with us. Thank you for all that you do.

Arthur sounds lovely Halloween Hmm

LadyScience · 21/10/2020 13:18

She did respond to Arthur with a spectacularly dignified burn. It made me laugh a lot on a gloomy morning.

LouiseBelchersBunnyEars · 21/10/2020 13:23

Wtf have I just read regarding CHILDREN?
Arthur is a very disturbed individual, because he can’t seem to tell the difference between sexual assault of a minor, and a hug

Absolutely. There are a lot of utter creeps coming out of the woodwork. The amount of shit I've seen that isn't even about the sex education point, they're straight up sulking because they think children should be allowed to consent to sex. This, and the determination to break down child safeguarding is just sickening.

ChampagneCommunist · 21/10/2020 13:29

I love the variety of her Twitter - nature photos, archeology etc - a well rounded mind

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 21/10/2020 13:31

I really admire her. She chose to get involved in this when so many don't dare to speak up.

Tanith · 21/10/2020 13:35

I've been deleted elsewhere on this board for posting what Arthur Chu and his disgusting friends said about children.

Iamanaubergine · 21/10/2020 13:37

I believe Michael Cashman caused the pile on by tweeting this:

I remain deeply concerned that something Baroness Nicholson said in
@UKHouseofLords
questions suggests she and others are planning an assault on the guidance for inclusive sex and relationship education.
I am up for the battle
@APPGLGBT@LizBarkerLords@stonewalluk
mobile.twitter.com/mcashmanCBE/status/1318227116983488512

It was subsequently retweeted by Sir Ian McKellan & Jameela Jamie. The Baroness had the temerity to ask in the HoL if she could meet with the Minister to discuss the new RSE guidance.

RandomGel · 21/10/2020 13:38

@Tanith
I am fully prepared that this post may be deleted.
But why delete from here when it is on Twitter and in the public domain now?

Ooh, someone doesn't believe in statutory rape... How progressive!

Yep

Winesalot · 21/10/2020 13:43

This is a very timely thread to remind us all that if you have any time available, any at all, even 30 minutes here or there, Baroness Nicholson needs fingers on keyboards to send out emails to untangle some of this mess.

Please contact her via email and she will put you in touch with whoever is organising emails at the time.

I hope you didn't mind this RandomGel

So ''concerned'' is he, that he refused to meet her when she offered so he could hear what she actually had to say, rather than him just speculating about her' probable planned assault' on Twitter.

Up for the battle, but he won't face a lone woman to talk Grin Aye lad, whatever you say.

RandomGel · 21/10/2020 13:57

@Winesalot
Not at all. We have an ally in Baroness Nicholson so let us all mobilise and help her.

She sent me a lovely letter when I wrote to her about my concerns regarding female safety.

BaronessWrongCrowd · 21/10/2020 14:01

I incredibly disappointed in Ian Mckellen exacerbating such bullying behaviour against the Baroness.

BovaryX · 21/10/2020 15:47

The historical revisionism is unsurprising. It was a Labour Neocon PM with a rock solid Labour majority who dragged the UK into the invasion of Iraq in March 2003. Those attacking Baroness Nicholson do not give a damn about objective reality. They deal in simplistic binaries ; Labour good, Tories evil. So inconvenient facts about the architects of the invasion of Iraq get vaporized down the Memory Hole.

ErrolTheDragon · 21/10/2020 15:53

He quite possibly doesn't know what this is really about, I'd guess he's been told it's some sort of section 28 abomination. I don't doubt there's a lot of misinformation of that sort around, whether deliberate or not.
Clymene · 21/10/2020 18:22

There is quite a lot of misdirection going on. Given McKellan signed the letter defending JKR I hope he's just been misled by mr cashman how I used to like but unfortunately he's just a common or garden misogynist.

persistentwoman · 21/10/2020 18:35

Thank you to the Baroness for being a responsible adult in the HoL. Neither of these men display any appreciation of safeguarding, child development or the challenges for parents of keeping children safe from the predatory adults seeking them out.

Just soundbites about 'inclusivity' at all costs. Fools.

SunsetBeetch · 21/10/2020 18:46

I am beginning to detest Cashman as much as he so obviously detests women. Odious, angry man.

happydappy2 · 21/10/2020 21:04

The Baronness is wonderful-that is why she is being targeted. She has many, many grateful women behind her.

BlackForestCake · 21/10/2020 21:14

Michael Cashman also supported the Iraq war so it’s a strange line of argument.

Look how militaristic his language is: "an assault"; "I am up for the battle".

OldeMagick · 21/10/2020 21:32

Arthur's an incel who's still bitter because his wife finally left him.

Even his own parents couldn't believe she'd put up with him for so long.

And as for Adrian.....Hmm
