Stella Creasy fails to join the dots

Stella Creasy has put forward an Equal Pay Bill which would allow women to know what male colleagues earn, in an attempt to bridge the pay gap. Which is great, but since she believes a woman is anyone who says they are a woman, how would it be possible to get accurate data and comparators? Yet again, it shows that conflating sex and gender just obfuscates the issues that really matter to women.

Stella Creasy has connected the dots alright. She's just studiously ignoring the pattern.

If one steps back and looks at the broader picture: protecting women's rights in law against maternity/pregnancy discrimination could be very expensive. So one way to nix that would be to effectively make the sexes into genders and genders interchangeable. So then it would be impossible to legally have exemptions or discrimination on grounds of sex. Gender is arbitrary and chosen according to some internal feeling that can't be defined.

Of course if this was the aim we'd expect to see campaigns to scrap or abolish the exemptions in the Equality Act and we are told frequently that nobody is trying to do this.

I've given up trying to work out what goes on in the mind of people like Creasy. Genuinely so dim she doesn't understand what's going on? Or capable of understanding it but chooses to pretend not to because appearing to be woke is more important to her than doing the morally right thing?

I think it's the latter @RoyalCorgi . She's not dim. She's just self-serving.
