Just noticed my voting form arrived. Are there any GC candidates?

I found this very useful compilation.
Saved me hours.

This is the Labour Party NEC presumably?

Ann Henderson and Laura Pidcock, off the top of my head.

I think WPUK posted a list of the GC ones on Facebook.

RubyViolet · 19/10/2020 17:35

Yes Labour NEC. Will check WPUK updates on this.

My mistake, it was Labour Women’s Declaration, not WPUK, who posted a list:

Thanks Black Forest, that’s a pretty definitive list.

Have voted accordingly, thanks for the list. How much chances do the GC candidates have, would you say?

NecessaryScene1 · 20/10/2020 13:29

Bumping and thanking - both useful links.

I fear I may find myself out of the Labour Party on my ear after voting, but at this point I am starting to feel that is the Labour Party's loss, not mine.

Relevant article about one of the candidates via Glinner's site:
Relevant article about one of the candidates via Glinner's site:

grahamlinehan.substack.com/p/a-woman-to-look-out-for-esther-giles
"Two years ago, Esther stood by a friend who was being hounded on social media by a xxxxx-xxxxxxxxxx male named Karen Passmore. At the meeting to select local councillor candidates shortly afterwards, Esther was prevented for standing as a local councillor and was branded a transphobe. This accusation was not upheld by the Labour party.

Shortly after this Esther retweeted an article written by a trans person criticising the tactics of TRA’s because she found it described her treatment perfectly. This retweet was the second piece of so-called evidence used to prove her transphobia. At the time Heather Peto called for Esther’s expulsion from the party. Karen Passmore’s behaviour towards Esther at a subsequent meeting was so aggressive that the Women’s officer arranged that Esther should always have two people with her at any meeting where Karen Passmore was present."

Shock Another depressingly familiar story. Peto is a liability for Labour.
As for that other person - why haven't they been suspended?

HavelockVetinari · 28/10/2020 21:14

Done. Thanks for the pointers folks.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 31/10/2020 12:54

And now they want my subscription, on a card address to "Mx" (name) instead of the title I filled in when I joined, and including a section for "Gender: man/woman/trans/non-binary/other".

I am unsure how rude to be about this: will my votes for the NEC still be counted if I do not go along with either of these bits of trendy wokery?
