I currently support two children in Africa through Plan UK, and do ad hoc giving. Is anyone willing to share their charitable causes so I can choose a couple more to support more regularly?

Obstetric Fistula charities.

Thanks, @PotholeParadies - will start a small monthly direct debit to one of those. Childbirth injuries are grim enough with the NHS to pick up the pieces - what it must be like to struggle on, unaided, doesn't bear thinking about.

Sightsavers (other charities to treat and avoid preventable blindness also exist).

Any water charity that you like the look of: I went for Water for People about twenty years ago, but there's a list at Wikipedia and you can choose one which suits your particular requirements. Lack of water leads to wars over it, and those almost always impact horribly on women and children. Not to mention they tend to be the ones doing ten mile trips to fetch water.
