What's the deal with Audible now?

Did they say sorry for calling their customers 'terfs' when people complained they withdrew advertising from Mumsnet ? I cancelled my membership at the time and they are now offering me a very attractive deal to come back, but I won't if they are still arseholes who think women should shut up.

FYI, on that list if alternatives to Etsy, Big Cartel are also a no no. JKR fan art is described by them as disguised transphobic products. 😒

Someone recommend Big Cartel on twitter last week (or the week before) as an alternative to Etsy after they banned JKR and AHF goods and Big Cartel responded with a tweet basically saying don't bring it here either. Misogynistic arseholes.

I ditched my Audible subscription after their nasty little twitter attack, I'd had that account active for about five years but now use other free and paying sites such as scribd.

Thanks @JustHereWithMyPopcorn. I particularly love how (and it's been pointed out) they just happened to have a copy of their exact tweet to put up again for when they 'accidentally' deleted it after being ratioed into the ground

Yes, we 'accidently' deleted the ratioed to hell tweet but luckily we had a copy so will try again. I hope they go bust.

I have never heard of Big Cartel but what complete wankers they are! Yes, hope they go bust. Far too many companies are enjoying harming women when they are reason they even have a business in the first place!

Some of those The screenshot of the original ratio though, wow. One of the worst I have seen..can sort of understand panic stations. Especting people to believe it was accidentally deleted though when you also copied it right beforehand so you could paste it is..weird.

I am sorry to say, but they don't care about anyone. They are just sending these offer mails to every customer now and then. Just their marketing plan to get back the customers. They don't understand the emotions at all.

I am a user of Google play books, and most books are under heavy discounts, maybe you'll like it too.

I thought about boycotting Audible but being part of Amazon it would have no effect. Nobody would even notice, even if hundreds of us did it.

So instead, I'm using all of my membership credits to buy everything JK Rowling has ever written and help keep her books on the bestseller lists.

@HearMeSnore yeah me too. Downloaded all the Strike books and am about to make a start on Troubled Blood and really enjoyed the other 4. Harry Potter is in the top 10 downloaded books on there. Fuck them.

It's fine, probably not the range of books that Audible has.

Btw, most Libraries have an online listening service now.
