Man stabs / attacks / punches SIX women on Belfast streets - ARRESTED

The police have arrested a 38 year old man - this man on his mountain bike, cycling around Belfast looking for women to stab over 1 hour 20 minutes. why did he stab and/or punch SIX women? Victims aged 19-22 years old. he punched two women in the neck or head

The timings and what he did:

1. 7.42pm on Monday evening in Castle Place - female pedestrian received a stab wound.

1. 7.51pm on the Ormeau Avenue - second woman stabbed

1. 8.56pm on Donegall Square West. - third woman stabbed

1. 8.56pm and 9.01pm on the Dublin Road, - fourth woman stabbed and punched at the back of her head.

1. 9.01pm, University Road, - fifth woman stabbed as she walked along the road

1. 9.03pm Upper Lisburn Road - sixth woman is punched in the neck

Any guesses where he spends time online?
Any groups he might be part of that encourage doing this?

Yes sorry it was more of a rhetorical question of how on earth sex isn’t a protected characteristic when so many attacks against women are fuelled by hatred towards them for being women. Something they can’t change.

This is terrorism, surely. It arises from an belief held about a particular group, women.

in Belfast, you're right our hate crime does not include sex. My MP actually made a reference to that in relation to this case and got a barrage of abuse online.

There's a comment on this news update story from a local women saying she hasn't been out for a walk for days. How many women in Belfast feel the same ... the police need to, and I hope will, look at what groups he was part of. like this group 'BANNING WOMEN FROM CITIES if all they do is charge this man and look no further, they'll let down the women of Northern Ireland.

was he contact with other men who are a danger too? how far will the police dig on this? Another tweet on that thread points to the case of a 14 year old boy found in a storm drain in the Shore Road area of the city. Police stated that there was no foul play involved and there are no answers into how he disappeared or how he died.

Questions - Will they charge this man and ABH and look no further? are they sure he’s a lone actor? is he a mentally ill person acting alone or was he encouraged by others? is the public still in danger? Have they searched his online activity? What's the police procedure in a case like this? ….

The Police Ombudsman organisation is a shambles. They've barely been operational since Covid struck and the entire office closed completely the other day due to Covid. And even before Covid they had huge backlogs.

The best show in N Ireland for making noise about things is the Steven Nolan show on Radio Ulster. He's a complete motormouth. But he's well known for being very controlling and setting the agenda for what he wants to talk about. I wonder would he even be interested. He's currently obsessed with people not wearing masks 😁 But it could be worth a try.

Kudos to the police for catching him so quickly. They also need to reassure the public with women afraid to leave the house. is he the only one? does he have dangerous connections who also want to attack women?

I know a woman who got beaten to a pulp by a stranger in a belfast street after her friend shouted out her very particularly of one community name.

I've heard oh no many things from people who have worked with him in the past, none of them flattering!

On the other hand, I know a family who he interviewed over a period of time for his programme and it was on a very sensitive topic and they said he was amazing, so compassionate, so empathetic, asked the right questions but always read the room and never upset them. And kept in touch afterwards to see how they were coping, long after the story was old news.

FedUp that story is awful. a "misogynist" with "deep-seated issues with women". But again there's an awful naivety here... saying that as long as he continues to drink he's a danger. Really? it's just drink? there's more going on here with both cases. Not just 'ABH'. Why aren't they investigating these mens online activity? or are they?

A man accused of a series of attacks on women in Belfast has made full admissions and offered apologies to the victims, a court heard today.
