Operation 'Send Flowers to Rosie Duffield'

Hi! I think we should do this!

The psychopathic, misogynistic bullying of Rosie Duffield continued today with the GMB getting a few kicks in.

By sheer coincidence, the GMB is currently embroiled in some very serious cases of sexual assault and harassment. General Secretary Tim Roache was forced out due to allegations against him just a couple of months ago. Despite this, they gave him a huge payoff and a choice of highly expensive car.

An independent report concluded that they were ‘institutionally sexist’

This is fast becoming for Starmer what the antisemitism row was to Corbyn. The bullying that Duffield is receiving is pure misogyny, and Starmer wanders around like the issue is beyond his remit. As he lets her spin in the wind, the misogynists who currently control the Labour party are trying to make her feel as isolated as possible.

This is all because she stands against an ideology that silences and bullies women, elevates mediocre men to powerful positions they do not merit and puts children on a fast track to medicalisation for life. Show her she’s not alone and show her bullies that she has the support of the vast majority of sane people in the UK.

Send flowers to her office using the following address.

Rosie Duffield

House of Commons
London

If we want a visual representation of our admiration for her then what else do you suggest?

Anything with flowers, maybe roses to match her name? A scarf, an ornament, a Guns and Roses recording?

If you want to do something that helps another then the Poppy shop has remembrance jewelry.

Thanks for posting her tweet - I can't see it on Twitter and she has locked her account. That's dreadful about her emails.

Sorry if this has been.posted already elsewhere...I have found a Pink News interview with "Sophie" who quit (not real name). Aside from it all being deemed bigotted, it looks like at least some got through. But according to "Sophie" Rosie should have bern unhappy about it becauseit was the wrong sort of support.

"Sophie told PinkNews that in the weeks after Duffield’s comments, there was a huge influx of “bigotry landing in [our] office” – several hundred more emails each week than usual.

“They were largely in support of her,” Sophie explains. “But most of the ones in support of her were overtly transphobic. Some of them aggressively so. And some of them were also overtly homophobic.”

The physical postbag, when the team went to collect it, was “full of proper old school homophobia, biblical homophobia”.

“The support Rosie got from this, and the bigots emboldened by this, is ongoing,” Sophie says. “It’s flabbergasting that a Labour MP should be OK with that – but she’s done nothing to say that she’s not.”

@Butterer

Thank you. I had not thought about that, I was just thinking of the poppy scarves.

Hmmn. I'll take her interpretation of the messages with a pinch of salt.
ArabellaScott · 18/10/2020 13:08

I sent an email about a week ago and got a reply from Rosie. So either she's now getting too many to respond to or yes maybe some are being vanished. One would hope she could trust her own staff.

yourhairiswinterfire · 18/10/2020 13:17

Most gender critics are horrified by the homophobic abuse being dished out by the woo woo side, particularly at lesbians. Amazing how we're always accused of being just as toxic, homophobic etc, yet no one can provide the proof?

Gender ideology is painting lesbians and gay men as perverts who need to get over their 'genital preferences'. Like how lesbians are told they just need to try the 'right dick'. Yeah, conversion therapy used to work that way with corrective rape Hmm

They're dragging LGB people fucking backwards and we're trying to stop it.

Scout2016 · 18/10/2020 13:23

@SunsetBeetch yes, quite. Then an ocean full.

"Sophie" also claimed that Rosie did things like ask her if she knew Sandi Toksvig, according to "Sophie" because they are both lesbians so Rosie thought they must know each other. She says she felt like Rosie saw LGBT people as completely Other.
Summarising to save anyone else having to click on PinkNews.

This reminds me vividly of the time Jane Fae (I think) told Julie Bindel he was scared of Jenni Murray. Bindel cracked up.

Camdenish · 18/10/2020 14:55

I’ve been emailing KS on the women’s and children’s rights issue for a while with no response. If I email on other issues I get a response. I’d assumed he was ignoring the issue but now I wonder if he’s not getting the emails.

EvenSupposing · 18/10/2020 15:05

Didn't she ask her because a. she owns a restaurant and b. was always going on about famous people visiting it and c. Sandi lived in the town?

Scout2016 · 18/10/2020 16:41

@EvenSupposing hahaha is that so? Is that the behind the scenes context? Wow.

P.s. I think if I knew Sandi Toksvig you wouldn't have to wait to ask me as I'd be looking for a chance to wangle it into conversation.

Escapeplanning · 18/10/2020 16:45

Every single member of the "Women's" Equality Party has been asked if they know Sandi Toksvig.

I believe the expression is... Chinny Reckon Grin

Something like that. I must confess that's hearsay. But there was a justification that made it obvious that the conversation had not been - RD 'Sophie, you're a lesbian, does that mean you know Sandi Toksvig?'

KnightsofColumbusThatHurt · 18/10/2020 19:23

Pink News's speciality is taking a single word, name or expression that had been uttered and then twisting it into something completely different that was not said, and it's fairly obvious this is exactly what has happened with the Sandi Toksvig thing! You can tell just by the way it's written.

It's classic Pink News Smile

PhoebeSnow · 22/10/2020 22:55

I got an email telling me that the flowers have been delivered so that’s good. Hope she enjoys them.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/10/2020 23:23

"Sophie" sounds ridiculous.
