Operation 'Send Flowers to Rosie Duffield'

Hi! I think we should do this!

The psychopathic, misogynistic bullying of Rosie Duffield continued today with the GMB getting a few kicks in.

By sheer coincidence, the GMB is currently embroiled in some very serious cases of sexual assault and harassment. General Secretary Tim Roache was forced out due to allegations against him just a couple of months ago. Despite this, they gave him a huge payoff and a choice of highly expensive car.

An independent report concluded that they were ‘institutionally sexist’

This is fast becoming for Starmer what the antisemitism row was to Corbyn. The bullying that Duffield is receiving is pure misogyny, and Starmer wanders around like the issue is beyond his remit. As he lets her spin in the wind, the misogynists who currently control the Labour party are trying to make her feel as isolated as possible.

This is all because she stands against an ideology that silences and bullies women, elevates mediocre men to powerful positions they do not merit and puts children on a fast track to medicalisation for life. Show her she’s not alone and show her bullies that she has the support of the vast majority of sane people in the UK.

Send flowers to her office using the following address.

Rosie Duffield

House of Commons
London
SW1A 0AA

I was once sent masses of flowers when dealing with something awful. It helped me a great deal. No, it wasn't practical, and no, we didn't have enough vases (neighbours benefited!) but nobody has ever suffered by feeling surrounded by people's love and concern.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 15/10/2020 20:35

I don’t mind if she gives mine away. I’d be ruddy delighted if she presents Keir Starmer with a few spare bunches and asks him to think why she is getting this support. It’s not just her I am sending a message to; it’s every politician whatever their political view who thinks this sort of misogynistic abuse of female MPs is ok.

BitterAndOnlySlightlyTwisted · 15/10/2020 20:51

Done. Fresh & Wild include a card so some written appreciation can be sent, too.

I just love the idea of her office bursting with lovely bouquets. Great idea Glinner

Molamola · 15/10/2020 21:07

Done. Arrive Monday. Hopefully there won’t be any room for them by then.

PhoebeSnow · 15/10/2020 21:23

Thank you for the discount code information HecatesCats. Flowers arriving Tuesday, wouldn’t it be brilliant if Rosie got loads of flowers everyday next week!

PhoebeSnow · 15/10/2020 21:25

I hope she gets all of them, slightly concerned that they might get sidetracked or be a security issue, fingers crossed

Done

PearPickingPorky · 15/10/2020 22:26

If she has too many, she can gives a bunch to each of her colleagues who tells her they agree but are too scared. Maybe it'll help them speak up.

KatVonlabonk · 15/10/2020 22:53

I love the idea of an office full of flowers for this brave lady.

Done, mine arrive Monday!

TheLobster · 15/10/2020 23:00

Done. This is so wholesome, I love the idea of a visual display of support. If I spoke up against this lunacy and people sent me flowers it would probably bring me to tears.

groutingqueen · 15/10/2020 23:07

Sent a postcard as no money for flowers right now

LoveInTheTimeOfCorona · 16/10/2020 03:25

Done. Lovely idea, thanks!

Deliriumoftheendless · 16/10/2020 06:10

Lol JJ, can you let us know what the Official Sanctioned List of Acceptable Things A Man Can Suggest We Send Women pls?

I know it starts death threats, rape threats and there’s probably a turd in a box on there too but after that I’m a bit unclear.

Far nicer and more civilized than sending hate messages / rape and death threats, like the TRAs/MRAs prefer to send women these days.

Gurufloof · 16/10/2020 07:36

Apart from cards or flowers what else can we send jj?
Cant send food like chocolate cos if it were me I wouldnt eat any or give any away.
Cant send toys, as then she would be inundated with toys and then have to find a home for them.
Plants need care, other food will rot and still wouldnt be eaten by me or given to anyone else.
If we want a visual representation of our admiration for her then what else do you suggest?

I've a card in my bag ready to post and will, on payday send flowers.

MsMarvellous · 16/10/2020 08:52

Bit short on cash for flowers but I have a thank you card I can send.

Flowersfor the effort.*

Indeed - because flowers are so 2019 whereas harassment, threats and death threats are so 2020.

Scout2016 · 16/10/2020 09:27

@Collidascope in the latest Mess We're in Podcast Glinner says some numpty has actually accused him of coming on mumsnet to sleaze on women and post dick pics Hmm

LangClegTheBeardedVulture · 16/10/2020 10:07

Sent, due to arrive Monday. I hope she's all right.

littlbrowndog · 16/10/2020 10:23

What a nice thing to do

Am going to send a card as skint at the moment

JKR said when she got cards and flowers it lifted her soul

All the hate directed towards women. Sometimes it seems like a torrent of hate and loathing has been unleashed on women
