I'm going to need to bulk order some cards! I think it's so important to show these brave women that they have support when they put their heads above the parapet. Such a lonely place to be in the Labour Party, particularly. Thank you for your bravery Rosie Thanks

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/10/2020 10:03

There is supposed to be 8 women on the committee and 8 men. But 4 of the "women" are biologically male. The person who is hounding Rosie Duffield is leader of this group and is a male who identifies as a woman.

But this would never happen! Obviously we know who the leader is, anyone know who the others are?

AnotherLass · 12/10/2020 10:10

It is great that she's spoken out but I still found this interview annoying as it's so weak - oh, I'm sure the young people have so much more knowledge, I'm just a silly old woman blaa blaa

They don't have knowledge. They're ignorant idiots. Is this really the best we can hope for? Maybe it is.

I think Rosie is brave to speak out. She's done what few MP's have been able to and stuck her head above the parapet.

I don't for one second believe that she truly thinks TWAW and it's sad and indicative of the current climate that she feels that she can't say the truth. Without being screamed at.

Our law makers seem completely terrified of offending TRA's. That's just not right.

Needmoresleep · 12/10/2020 10:25

Looking at the photos of the Committee, my guess is that some of the men might be biologically female.

Perhaps even after all?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/10/2020 10:26

Thank you Kit19!

DeaconBoo · 12/10/2020 10:31

Another thank you from me

Lottapianos · 12/10/2020 10:32

Brave woman. This is what real courage, leadership and backbone look like. Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner, you should be ashamed of yourselves. What a disgrace you both are

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 12/10/2020 10:46

I’m not sure they are bothered what I think. It’s just a vehicle to attack women in public.
Star

Thank you Rosie Flowers

zanahoria · 12/10/2020 10:47

Angela Rayner asked Rosie to reflect on her views, seems that she has and decided she was right all along.

Wonder who chose the photos? 👀

Manderleyagain · 12/10/2020 10:55

From post above "You know, maybe she does believe tw aw sometimes and that females still need their protections. Or Maybe she feels scared to say transwomen are trans women" . I think it could be either of these. I think much of the population are probably with the first option - tw are a type of woman who should be treated as women in the majority of circumstances - its only when you find out what the political statement 'twaw' means in practice (for women's sport eg) that you realise 'are' actually really does mean 'are'.

The religious framing of that question as belief was interesting. One of the gc philosophers said on twitter that she was no longer answering that question because people have no right to know the content of her heart. Other people only have a right to know how you will treat people.

The comment about the 'gender balance' of labour lgbt Committee or whatever it is was eye-opening but not that surprising. I wonder if any of the men are female born? It sounded like not.

Thank you for the share token OP. The share tokens really make this board a great resource.

Thank you Rosie. I think this is really significant. I hope it makes Starmer think.

teawamutu · 12/10/2020 10:59

Like JKR, and Martina... Careful what you wish for, TRAs.
MissLawls · 12/10/2020 11:15

Brilliant from Rosie and the comments beneath it are wonderful.

Starmer is a coward. I hope it's okay to post this here. I wrote about how Labour cannot continue to ignore this issue. It'll be catnip for the Tories at the next election.

Cwenthryth · 12/10/2020 11:54

I’ve sent her an email thanking her this morning. She’s going to get so much hate from the TRAs, hopefully it will be water off a ducks back but I wanted her to know that I for one was truly grateful for her being a visible woman saying biological sex is real.

zanahoria · 12/10/2020 12:10

Self id was their policy but as Brexit has shown, Tories are adept at switching ideologies. Labour far less so.

ChattyLion · 12/10/2020 12:12

Have sent Rosie Duffield a card. Also sent a belated thank you card to Liz Truss and Jackie Doyle-Price.
I am next going to email my (Labour) MP asking them to ask Kier and Angela to stand up for women, biological truth, and against misogyny and homophobia. I am absolutely ashamed for them of how they are behaving over this.

GCYY · 12/10/2020 12:42

I can't see the article. When I follow the link I get "Sorry... The article you were trying to read was free only for a limited time" ... even though it's less than a day old.

Does anybody have a link that works or text of the article?

There's no way I can afford the £26/month access fee (and in not very comfortable with the idea of feeding money to Murdoch anyway).

Mollyollydolly · 12/10/2020 12:45

I've emailed my thanks to her, cc'd in Keir Starmer and my local MP. The more of us do this the more we might get them to realise how many of us there are bloody furious about this.

PopperUppleton · 12/10/2020 12:47

Thanks for new share token but I also get that it was only free for a limited time. And also it's an article from March 2017?

wellbehavedwomen · 12/10/2020 12:55

She's incredibly brave. She's putting her head over the parapet for women, and I love her for it. Here's hoping others who are too scared to do what they know is right stand with her.

Women are human. Women exist. And women matter.

wellbehavedwomen · 12/10/2020 12:59

But this would never happen! Obviously we know who the leader is, anyone know who the others are?

So the Labour LGBT group who bully and harass anyone who doesn't agree non-subservient women are hateful bigots, also thinks gender balance is achieved by appointing 12 men and 4 women?

Well, that figures. Welcome to their brave new feminism, which is exactly like their bad old misogyny, but this time they hope we won't notice.
