Impressive woman.

Wishingstarr · 11/10/2020 17:36

What a fantastic speech!!! 👏👏👏

Which political party is she a member of?

BoomBoomsCousin · 11/10/2020 19:14

DH’s in the Liberal Party, which is Australia’s major right-wing party.

BoomBoomsCousin · 11/10/2020 19:15

*She’s, not DH!

EarlofEggMcMuffin · 11/10/2020 19:27

What a fabulous lady; more power to your elbow Claire and vvvv well said.
Can we clone her over here? Grin

Cabinfever10 · 11/10/2020 22:38

Cabinfever10 · 11/10/2020 22:39

Sorry don't know where the extra who came from Blush

Whatsnewpussyhat · 11/10/2020 22:43

We need more like her.
Funny how they dropped the case when they knew it wasn't going their way.

She was so right about ordinary woman being targeted and shut down. Fined. Forced to sign non disclosure agreements. Sickening and scary. Penis owners are being allowed to get away with this.

I trust she will stand up for any woman targeted by Eq Op Tasmania. These people need firmly putting back in their box.

WarOnWomen · 12/10/2020 07:50

I imagine this is what it is going to look like if self id can in and with the hate crime bill too.

She's amazing SmileThanksStarHalo

FindTheTruth · 12/10/2020 10:36

Wow!

So in Australia a women can be forced (or pay $2000) to attend a 'conciliation', sign a non disclosure agreement, have no legal representation, if a man complains about her saying that women's sports are for the female sex, to the equality commission

have I got that right?

how does this compare to other countries?

wellbehavedwomen · 12/10/2020 14:04

Love this woman. She takes no prisoners, and has such enormous courage. The climate in Australia is very different to that here, and yet she is forcing that Overton window to widen, inch by painful inch, and doing it with intelligence, poise, and absolute determination.

IwishNothingButTheBestForYou · 12/10/2020 14:28

Excellent speech.

No doubt we will be told that this woman is "strident" and "hectoring" before the day is out.

cheeseismydownfall · 12/10/2020 14:58

I sent her an email of support a few weeks ago and got a reply from this morning! Only a friendly thank you, but was lovely to receive.

PrawnofthePatriarchy · 12/10/2020 15:16

I hope that her magnificent speech is used as a springboard by any woman targeted by Eq Op Tasmania to fight this appalling, undemocratic practice. "Sunlight; sunlight" as we say so often on this board

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/10/2020 15:38

Wonderful speech.
