Steps in the right direction : Birthday Honours List

This batch of gongs for the first time treats men and women completely equally.

Nobody has a title unless its earned (eg Dr or Prof)
None of the women have extra names listed when they use their maiden name
The layout of the men's and women's names is identical

Admittedly it does look like men are listed before women when they are married couples, rather than alphabetically

but after years and years of complaining, its wonderful that change has been accepted.

That is good. Though really quite shocking it’s taken until now to achieve this incredibly basic level of fair treatment in the listing of the names.

A step in the right direction would be some famous woman refusing an honour. Perhaps they already have?

Many people refuse honours but tend not to talk about it.
