I mean it’s only women after all!!

In the law societies lgbt group view the equality act isn’t fit for purpose & recommends companies do away with single sex spaces to ensure staff feel comfortable

Also noting how ignoring the law is now called “exceeding it”

Thank goodness Legal Feminist are aware and can hopefully do something about it.

"The Law Society's template is baffling", said a spokesperson for Legal Feminist, a collection of solicitors and barristers interested in feminist analysis of law. "Women disproportionately experience sexual harassment while being paid less and promoted less. No doubt many law firms would like to believe that they exist in a plane that transcends this troublesome reality, but without recognising sex they cannot deal with sexism".

The oxymoron in the link posted by Kit.

Which of the staff will feel more comfortable with mixed sex toilets and changing rooms? Not women and not most men Angry

A committee of the law society saying it’s ok to ignore the law of you don’t agree with it is definitely a take!!

Any other laws we can ignore cos we don’t agree?

Why does a LGBT+ group get to decide women’s rights?

Aesopfable · 02/10/2020 13:03

If, for example, a law society Islamic group decided the Equality Act should do away with Sexuality as a protected characteristic then should the Law Society go along with this too on the basis of inclusion of members of that group?

That.

The only thing I can say is that I feel this is the end of living in a democracy. If I cannot trust the Law to be upheld by lawyers, what are they for? Should I ask for a 50% discount the next time I need one because laws aren't really necessary.

So bloody arrogant
