Is any organisation recording the side effects and ‘unexplained’ deaths of children who receive body-changing drugs and surgeries for the purpose of transition? I mean, separately from those of children being unfortunately harmed by treatment for physical illness?

I don’t think that you can read across that because somebody said whilst living that they wanted children that they would also want children created from their DNA once they had passed away. My motivation for having children was wanting to raise and love them myself, not to provide them for someone else (even a close family member) to do so.

@ArabellaScott

Heart attacks are listed as a potential side effect of Lupron.

This is horrific. Please someone tell me that children are not being given off label medecines that could kill them.

10,000 adverse events in the use of this drug - there are support groups in America where it seems to have been used a lot. Children's bodies are being destroyed by this. I did see talk of a class action being prepared but can't remember who it would be against as possible not the manufacturer if it is off-label?

I saw a tweet only yesterday from a certain person promoting a certain struck off in the UK GP who is claiming that these are completely reversible, safe and a 'life saver'. Given the recent government and NHS guidance surely this is illegal??

Makes me want to weep, gardenbird. It's criminal. Just so unfair. Children can't give meaningful consent, can't understand the issues. They're being failed by medics and society as a whole if they're exposed to risk on the basis of some very flaky socio-political theories.

ArabellaScott · 01/10/2020 09:31

Apologies, I appreciate this is somewhat tangential. Having trouble getting past it.

I agree with others upthread. Ellie banked sperm so she would have the option to have biological children herself later in life. Seems wise of her.

If I was a teen in Ellie's position, I would do the same if offered the opportunity. But it wouldn't mean I was happy for that sperm to be used after my death, to conceive a child with a complete stranger, who would never meet me.
