I saw a recommendation on here to send a thank you card to Liz Truss so I’ve just sent one to her and also to Glinner and JKR. Is there anyone else who it would be good to send one? Thanks!

I sent one to Baroness Nicholson, who later blocked me on twitter, despite the fact that the last interaction we'd had was about me doing my neighbours garden. Anyway, she still has my thanks! Brave lady.
I'm just a bit sad about it!
Twitter is a pit. *licks wounds

I do like the way you can't block on mumsnet.

I've sent several other messages / letters of thanks too. I think there's a liz truss letter thread here. I must send her one!

She is a bit random on twitter Kat try not to take it to heart. I don't think she completely understands Twitter sometimes. I've seen her block someone because they quote tweeted and tagged her and she didn't follow that the quoted tweet wasn't the opinion of the person who quoted it, iyswim.

Jackie Doyle-Price and Felicity Buchan stuck their heads above the parapet to ask pro-women questions of Liz Truss in the HoC on Friday morning. If they hadn't been there it would have been a long, almost entirely male, whine about poor men not allowed to self-ID as women. I've emailed them to say thanks. We need them to know we're watching and we've noticed.

She has also said she tends to block people who use lots of GIFs and emojis, because being partially sighted it causes her problems.

Also people who swear a lot.

No idea if either of these are you, but just for info.

I just want to point out David tc Davis. For a while he was the only Westminster mp who would give wpuk etc the time of day. He spoke against self id in Parliament a couple of yrs ago and everyone else who spoke was for self id. He facilitated one or two meetings in Parliament where gc feminists spoke and was subjected to a police investigation because of it. His politics is v different from the women he listened to, but he's worth a mention.

Joanna Cherry is the other Westminster (I think!) MP who has been vocal.

Also people who swear a lot.

Crap. Well I'm screwed then.

KatVonlabonk · 27/09/2020 16:43

I knew about the swearing and whilst I'm a foul mouthed commoner I was always very careful around her! Didn't know about the gifs. I got blocked by lots of gc accounts at around the same time. It was all very strange but actually I do feel better for less time on there. Daft eh?

Thanks though x

GoodyWolf what address did you use for Glinner?

Scout2016 · 27/09/2020 17:38

@EdgeOfACoin I was about to ask the same. Glinner's really gone out on a limb over this. He's been open about it affecting his work and the impact of that must be massive.

GoodyWoolf · 27/09/2020 18:40

@EdgeOfACoin

GoodyWolf what address did you use for Glinner?
@edgeofacoin & @scout2016 I’ve just sent it to his agency and I’m hoping they will forward it on. It was through following him on Twitter that I became aware of all that has been going on, and of this board actually, and I feel awful for him with the way he’s been treated. I gave up on Twitter when he got kicked off it. The agency address is at the bottom of the page in this link: www.independenttalent.com/directors/graham-lineham/

Good idea to send one to Glinner. I think I'll do the same. He lost a lot of fair-weather friends and work with all this.

EdgeOfACoin · 27/09/2020 19:53

Thanks, GoodyWoolf.

Scout2016 · 27/09/2020 20:32

Thank you GoodyWoolf.
