Let Clothes be Clothes is speaking up against Mermaids.
They are getting a pile on by the trans activists so if anyone is on Facebook and could show them support I'm sure they would appreciate it!

I really wish there was the following emojis to respond to posts on there:

Raising the middle digit
Bare backside

Kit19 · 26/09/2020 09:24

Deary me so much wailing and you’re meeeeeaaann in the replies. It’s sad really - mermaids - as they’re devoting so much time to telling us now - never ever said children were born in the wrong body (Miranda look to camera) so all those ppl are now horrid transphobes

I can’t wait for the day when the book is written on all this

SerenityNowwwww · 26/09/2020 09:27

They won’t believe it. Show them screenshots - fake, video - doctored. It’s all a big conspiracy.

When out the people in person the tell them to their face - it’s all a conspiracy. This is the mentality of there people!!

Redshoeblueshoe · 26/09/2020 09:40

Are they on Twitter ? I'm not on Facebook

Babdoc · 26/09/2020 09:54

I’ve posted in support.

Deliriumoftheendless · 26/09/2020 10:36

It’s like talking to someone who doesn’t believe school shootings are real 🤷‍♀️

yourhairiswinterfire · 26/09/2020 10:46

I'm sorry, how utterly stupid are those people?

How on Earth can they accuses LCBC of displaying transphobia for repeating what Mermaids have said?

See, they just love a good pile on, don't they? That's all it's about really, they love the thrill bullying someone for no actual reason with no consequences.

KatVonlabonk · 26/09/2020 11:03

I feel the tide is changing though. More people speaking up at last.

TRAs are such an obnoxious lot though. Truly.

That page‘a comments are doing my head in as Susie Green started it all off saying her son was playing with the wrong toys - he was far too young to have articulated a problem. She interpreted that as a problem.
But apparently none of that ever happened

highame · 26/09/2020 15:17

It really is a pity that the internet was ever invented. Evidence seems to be so easy to gather.

We are so like an army. They are getting a pile on by the trans activists so if anyone is on Facebook and could show them support I'm sure they would appreciate it! we all rush to the rescue, some positive ones now

gardenbird48 · 26/09/2020 16:37

@Babdoc

I’ve posted in support.
I’ve just spotted this thread but follow that page and made sure a few real live facts got chucked in there :-)) good for LCBC
gardenbird48 · 26/09/2020 16:42

To add to the excellent points being made as well I should add.

SlipperyLizard · 26/09/2020 17:13

Some of the comments on there - people insisting that to say “no one is born in the wrong body” is transphobic and erases trans people. Someone should tell them about Mermaids’ reverse ferret...

KatVonlabonk · 26/09/2020 17:23

@highame

That's how TRA got so much traction, they pile on, it's especially noticeable on twitter. It's how they pressure companies and organisations. Facebook i think it's the last frontier because it's not anonymous. It's great to see so many women now feeling able to stand up against regressive stereotypes. The government has spoken very clearly so there's no need to fear.

Thank goodness for the mumnet army too, the TRAs have had their bullying way far too long.

People on that page are still telling others that there are females with penises and that humans can change sex. But now those people are the minority. They are being robustly challenged

Galvantula · 26/09/2020 19:30

Such a lot of disingenuous shite being posted.

It's just an update, to clarify. Hmm

Francescacircus · 27/09/2020 09:19

I just wanted to say a massive thank you for all the support on the Let Clothes Be Clothes facebook page yesterday, it was hugely appreciated and definitely helps when you are being swamped by silly name calling. I can't thank you all enough, Fran xx

gardenbird48 · 27/09/2020 09:23

Hi Fran love your page - I can’t believe some of those commenters - you did a great job of standing up to them and I hope there’s been no negative effect on your stats.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 27/09/2020 09:53

Well done, Fran, and thanks for standing up for children. I well remember all the Mermaids propaganda that they are now denying ever having published. I could hardly believe those old stereotypes — outdated even in the 1960s — were being treated like the word of God.

MountainWitch · 27/09/2020 10:05

Really happy to see Let Clothes be Clothes take a stand on this. Well done Fran

Siameasy · 28/09/2020 14:47

Bumping
They are getting a few of the usual suspects trying to pile on as they’ve just posted the Times article about tomboys
