Sorry when I read the first post on the name I thought it was a joke post - is that really the name this person has adopted?

Stella OMalley has, along with Prof OShes been one of the few medics willing to speak out on this topic. If it weren't for social media. we would be completely in the dark. It is very simple to apply for a GRC here

A 3 page form, and have a witness when it is signed, a witness can be a Peace Commissioner, Notary Public, Commissioner for Oaths or Solicitor and a include a birth cert with the application.

I thought the whole thing about jail was to keep the public safe. They have spoken about killing and raping. And so they are allowed out to threaten - what if they carry out the threats??

In this case Barbie isn't a convicted sex offender afaik. Which demonstrates the whole weaknesses in Self ID. Anyone case change gender for whatever reason they choose. It is completely based on trust.

Once a Gender Recognition Certificate is issued, the gender of the person named on the certificate becomes for all purposes the preferred gender from that date forward.

Accordingly, if the preferred gender is the male gender the person’s sex becomes that of a man, and if it is the female gender the person’s sex becomes that of a woman.

They are mixing up sex and gender. Surely your sex can't change, but you can legally live as your chosen gender.
Sex needs to be included in the equality act, and places can be segregated by sex NOT GENDER where necessary.

Is it really the case in Ireland that a person doesn't have to change a single thing when changing gender identity? Donald Trump, say, were he Irish, could continue exactly as he is but just declare that he is now a she? Any man could simply change identity and then apply to scholarships intended to correct historical discrimination against female-bodied people etc.?

That means everything becomes mixed sex, from hospital wards to prisons.

@nepeta - yes, it really is. DSis, who calls me a Terf and jokes about my friendship with Glinner (oh the lols) - was shocked, shocked I tell you, when I explained the stats on transition to her.

None of those famous people who you hear about in the media who are transgender have actually had an operation to remove their male parts. Only a teeny tiny percentage of transwomen ever have the final operation. And most of the loudest, wokest, take women's places transwomen have not even had hormones. They just "self ID" into the role. 'Cause, you know, feelings and all, that's really all that counts.

Oh and the man in the Irish Women's prison, is all man, he self ID'd into the prison. But you will hear none of this in the MSM in Ireland because we are the wokest of the woke and proud, in the long tradition of Ireland, to throw women under a bus.
