What a bunch of sanctimonious, humourless, racist arseholes. Only my opinion of course.

I don't think this is an isolated incident. It seems to be the new way to harrass blue tick accounts. I have seen a few examples in the last few days demanding people put pronouns into their bio 'to show their support' including men. That said, I doubt the men have had the same level of vicious harassment Gina Carano received since she committed the double crime of resisting and being female.

So it's now gone from showing support / being an ally if you DO choose put pronouns in your twitter bio, to being a hateful transphobic bigot if you choose NOT to put them in?

Just so that I am clear what I should do if I ever felt the need to get a twitter account .

I think it's clear that we're much safer not having Twitter accounts at all!

There are some very nasty corners in various social media and it seems at the moment that Twitter has some extremist vigilante groups lurking there just waiting to pounce. I don't go there any more, having once had to have a work account that was never more than just boringly workaday, I'm glad to say.

How someone can be bullied relentlessly to do something, give in and then be bullied again for how they did it is scarcely credible, let alone the threats about destroying a career over it.

Margaret Atwood said that men are afraid women will laugh at them: women are afraid men will kill them.

Women are often expected to take the nastiest jokes on the chin and get accused of having no sense of humour. Men often feel really threatened by laughter. Interesting to see how some TRAs are reacting to this particular pronoun issue.

It’s never good enough. It’s never enough.

She has cut to the chase and refused to play their game. Good on her.

It's also a reason for alerting workplace HR departments to the risks to women employees of giving in to demands about pronouns. Nobody seems too fussed whether the men do or not, but women seem to be exposed to quite invasive scrutiny and are damned if they don't and damned if they do anything more than meekly comply with the obvious.

I have seen no attacks at all on men who won't list their pronouns - have I missed something?

Perhaps whole departments and whole companies need to go the "beep, boop, bop" route in a Spartacus response to keep the most vulnerable safe?
