I really hope JKRowling sees that thread x

DianasLasso · 08/09/2020 11:27

Ah, what a glorious ratio that is to behold.

Fxckwxts, the lot of them.

Winesalot · 08/09/2020 11:32

Fink

ratio refers to the number of comments or times the tweet has been ‘quite tweeted’ usually with a negative comment vs being ‘liked’.

In this case it has over 3000 comments that are mostly negative and very few likes. So it is an indication that the tweet is disagreed with or raised a negative reaction rather than been held up as something positive or agreed with.

Doyoumind · 08/09/2020 11:34

Now, when they back pedal from this, will it be because of the offended females or the offended TW? Hmm

Winesalot · 08/09/2020 11:35

And looking at TedXlondons twitter, it usually has little engagement with its tweets. So, this makes these tweets even worse as a brand awareness exercise as it means a) they aren’t likely to truly engage with their audience and b) they are coming from a low brand awareness rate as it was.

Deliriumoftheendless · 08/09/2020 11:36

Aw it all reminds me of Slade, with their gender non conformity and random spellings.

FloresTorres · 08/09/2020 11:44

Is that M.Slade?
Or Nxddy Hxldxr?

Winesalot · 08/09/2020 11:50

It is good to see the comments debunking their stats on that intersex tweet. It is taking off too now. That is what happens when you draw attention to your timeline, people start to question false information.

This is not a good week for them! And it is all driven by their choice to follow the genderist version of reality and not truth. And I thought Bringing truth to the world was one of their aims....

littlbrowndog · 08/09/2020 11:51

To those who try to steal our language of how we describe ourselves

Fink · 08/09/2020 11:51

Thanks Winesalot.

gardenbird48 · 08/09/2020 12:00

non-cisgender women - seriously.

Haworthia · 08/09/2020 12:02

I was going to say “fxck thxm” but I see I’m a bit late for that joke Grin

Wanderingstars4238 · 08/09/2020 12:02

I don't think this is just to support TW, but is also meant to disrespect women.
I suspect numerous misogynistic men will also be against it because they know blatant sexism causes a strong backlash from women. They'd rather sexism be sneaky and insidious.

jhuizinga · 08/09/2020 12:06

I see their survey is currently not accepting new responses. I wonder why?

Cocklepops · 08/09/2020 12:06

It’s a more progressive way of spelling ‘women’?
Personally I think it looks like someone dropped their phone on their keyboard and tried to style it out.

jhuizinga · 08/09/2020 12:08

I see their survey is currently not accepting new responses. I wonder why? (Not really 😀).

Totickleamockingbird · 08/09/2020 12:08

Let’s all use ‘TXD’ for them from now on and see how they like this erasure of their brand name. Hmm

Beamur · 08/09/2020 12:19

TXD pronounced 'thud'

twoHopes · 08/09/2020 12:33

Womxn is a more progressive and inclusive spelling of women

You can't just assert that you bunch of bellxnds!* Where's the intellectual rigour?!

*Bellxnds is a more inclusive word as it includes people who now identify as bellends as well as people who are bellends

CaveMum · 08/09/2020 12:35

Julie Bindel is tweeting the Director of TEDx London to ask for comment on an article she’s writing about the use of “womxn”. This is not going to end well for TEDx!

fatblackcatspaw · 08/09/2020 12:36

@ArabellaScott

TXD can Fxck xff.
with knxbs xn
BertiesLanding · 08/09/2020 12:41

Has the Tweet gone? I can't find it.

BertiesLanding · 08/09/2020 12:42

Ah - found it again. Sorry!

334bu · 08/09/2020 12:43

On their tweet they have a link to a survey for people's views about Ted. I filled it in identifying. Don't think they'll like my submission!😁

334bu · 08/09/2020 12:44

Identifying as a potential attendee!
