Hello mumsnetters. I don't post often on FWR, but I am a regular lurker, and semi-regular name changer.
With the introduction of compulsory RSE, and the various scandals involving the groups who provide teaching resources (The Proud trust, etc), I thought it would be helpful to collect information about all these providers in a single thread. (I don't think this has been done already, but please correct me if I'm wrong!)
Many of these groups have shown a profound lack of judgement about child safeguarding, to say the least. There is also the issue of teaching gender identity theory as if it were fact, rather than belief. We know many of these groups have an agenda.
On the other hand, I'm sure most of us would agree that good quality RSE is important, and teaching about lgbt issues, when done well, is also important.
So, as well as cataloguing the many worrying discoveries we have seen from so many organisations, I think it would be productive if there were organisations we could recommend to schools as an alternative.
I will link to currently active threads and add other info that I've used with my children's school.
I don't get much time for posting, so I won't come back to the thread often, but will check in periodically.
